Re: Does PM work?

Greetings Will,

They do work.

Although... I'm not entirely certain on the process behind it, the messages go to the Outbox immediately after being sent, and after an unknown amount of time, they seem to move automatically to the Sent folder.

Oh, stuka... prepare to get confused.

Your Buddha Chat avatar is my Dhamma Wheel avatar.... and my Buddha Chat avatar is your Dhamma Wheel avatar!

Re: The first verse of the Dhammapada

Greetings Manapa,

You do raise a good point... there is still something to be learned from any translation. My concern as always is about the appropriate grasping of the snake... grabbing it properly so that it does not bite.

Dhammanando - Global Moderator

Greetings, I am thrilled to be able to announce that venerable Dhammanando has decided to join us here at Dhamma Wheel in the capacity of a Global Moderator. Venerable Dhammanando is the most learned bhikkhu I know and I have a deep respect for him. I know there are others here amongst us who feel s...

Re: Privacy

Greetings Fede,

We're hoping there won't be issues of this variety, hopefully on account of the reasonably specialised nature of this forum.

If you do experience any problems though, please let us know.

The first verse of the Dhammapada

Greetings, Prompted by Manapa's reference to it in another thread, I thought I would post the following.... After a lengthy public discussion about the first line of the Dhammapada on BuddhaChat I put the following question to a group of people... The first line of the Dhammapada... “manopubbangamaa...

Re: Ajahn Chah: Buddha, Dhamma & the Mango Tree

Precisely so, Christopher... I find that to be a liberating message.

Without that realisation, how could there ever be true renunciation?

Re: Happy to be here

Greetings Jechbi, Lovely to see you here, and lovely also to hear a bit about yourself, after having seen you around the place. I too have done a 10-day Goenka course (May 2007, I think) and it was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life, even if my practice now is more specifically aligned...

Re: Pali Canon

Greetings,

Actually, for me it's a good way to save money, as I was toying with ordering Bhikkhu Bodhi's partial anthology of the AN... no need to now. I understand it's actually quite a long Nikaya in terms of wordcount, does anyone know for sure?

Re: spell check

Greetings JC,

Type up a post and type something in wrong. Is it underlined in red? If so, what happens when you right-click the word?
