Re: Dream World v Real World!

Great relevant quote, Santa. So if we are involved in sensuality then pretty much we are living in illusion, in a dream. Interesting how that has echoes of Hindu roots to it. The question is not "if" as this would suggest that we are questioning the teaching itself. The teaching is there to be unde...

Re: Dream World v Real World!

I means to me someone has watched Inception too many times. In my experience, it's only in films that people seriously say that. Hollywood seems obsessed by that theme at the moment. Oh, wait, I have heard people say that, but they were on drugs at the time. Do you think there is any difference bet...

Re: Why getting up in the mornig? What for?

I have read books (i.e. their talks) by Ajahn Chah and Ajahn Sumedho. I like a lot of what is being said there. I am looking for some feedback on one question. Let's assume a certain level of awareness is being established. It allows to be liberated (or at least get an idea of it). What I have not ...

Dream World v Real World!

There is a saying in a film: "Have you ever had a dream that it was so real, what if you were never to wake up from that dream, how would you know the difference between the dream world and the real word?" What does the above statement mean to you? Do you think you are in a dream world or are you in...

The awakened one does not die because the awakened one "knows".....also known as "deathlessness".

Re: What makes one a Buddhist?

What makes one a buddhist depends on ones point of view. One will say one is a buddhist because one is on the path as one relies on the path but when one reaches at a certain level, one does not see the path as there are no paths to be found. As there are no paths to be found, there cannot be a budd...

Re: Super Famous Buddhists

There is no such thing as a famous buddhist, never mind super as they are all human constructs.....only exist in the mind.
However, what is more important is how one is doing along on the path.

Re: Theravada attainment

One does not "know" the result before walking the path.....It is faith alone that one is on the path.
If one knew the results of the path, one would not be required to walk the path.....as there is no path to be found.

There is a saying: "The truth cannot be told, one needs to see it for themselves"

Re: Aggregate?

There is a saying: One cannot SEE beyond what one cannot understand. The word SEE does not mean seeing by using the eyes, it uses the mind. It is the mind that one needs to set free, to do so, one would need to empty it first. Words are just words, don't be bounded by the words alone.....hence when ...

Re: Aggregate?

All experiences through our perception are empty, they are not real, when one "KNOWs" this, one would not use it or depend on it.
The key here is to understand WHY they are not real......remember you are a human being thinking as a human being which is a wrong view!

Re: Metal vs physical feeling?

Mental V Physical......Mind V Body..... Both of which are empty.....hence they are not real! What did you mean by empty? And what did you mean by not real? What is real? Regards. Empty is where you discover the pot of paint you purchased has no paint inside. (analogy) Mind & Body is part of a human...
