Could be that it is referring to Thai editions, as the book is a translation. Ven Dhammanando may know.

Re: Contemporary threats to free speech

The immediate context of the post from which quoted Sam Vera are quite different from the words which you quote above. It may be the case that his words "relate back to" that which you say they do. The words you quoted were not in the post to which I responded. Nor were they the idea to which I bel...

Re: How does one observe Anatta ?

Is the conception/sense of self something that arises within the knowing or is it the knowing? Knowing seems to involve an inherent duality, the knower and the known, subject and object, observer and observed. Well in communication there will always be duality. But isn't duality also something that...

Ireland to wear kit with LGBT rainbow flag design for Saturday's friendly with USA

Ireland will wear a kit containing the rainbow flag colours of the LGBT movement in their international friendly with the United States this weekend. The FAI announced that the numbers of the back of the player's shirts will be filled with the colours of the rainbow flag instead of the traditional ...

Re: How does one observe Anatta ?

Indeed. I still haven't seen any methods here which relate to observing anatta directly . And I still don't see how limited control over the aggregates negates self-view, that sense of me and mine. Do you have a method for observing "self" directly? I would be trying to observe myself with myself, ...

Re: Do you like or dislike devotional practices?

I like traditional devotional practices.

They give me a sense of timelessness and connection with those who have gone before.

Re: MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT: Forthcoming Changes to the DW Forums

Why does this forum have an admin with such political bias? Do you see the bias? Do you think it is okay? Where has it taken us? More questions as a response...interesting. Look how many I have answered. Are questions not okay? Why don't you want to answer them? Why has this forum had an admin with...

Re: MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT: Forthcoming Changes to the DW Forums

No I didn't specifically try to view the memes with equanimity. I don't feel a need. Does that mean that you already had perfect equanimity towards them, No it doesn't. or that you didn't feel the need to bring an end to your ill-will towards them? My "ill-will towards them" - okay. Do you feel a n...

Re: MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT: Forthcoming Changes to the DW Forums

What does it say about me that I have been "on top of him"? It means I object. Yes, but it did absolutely nothing to improve the situation. Nothing. I called you out for putting a mark on Paul when he returned and you played babe-in-woods as if you no idea what I was talking about. Maybe you should...

Re: MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT: Forthcoming Changes to the DW Forums

I don't understand your question Sam. Do you mean it hasn't been a failure or or Why does Mr Man think it has failed? Why do you think that "failed" is a useful descriptor? There has been a lot of moderator/admin discussion behind the scenes, and I'm not picking up a sense of "failure". By "failed"...

Re: MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT: Forthcoming Changes to the DW Forums

Do you think admin and the team have any responsibility for the failure of the ""News, Current Events & Politics" and "Lounge" forums" (I guess it's a failure)? If so why not acknowledge this in the opening post of this thread? Why do you think it has been a failure? Such posts as populate it will,...

Re: MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT: Forthcoming Changes to the DW Forums

The real problem with this forum has been the returning admin, who has who has poured his political bias all over this forum. In my opinion to a far greater extent than any other member. But what if that is what the Dhamma actually is?! What if in order to become enlightened, one has to embrace rig...
