Re: Sarah Palin

Unfortunately it seems that neither party has the integrity to lead. Why? Delusion, aversion, craving.......

Re: Why should we care about the new life after rebirth?

Hi Terasi,

Ask your sister, "what's the benefit of having led a good life?"

Re: About not kill any living being

A tapeworm is infesting you and threatening your life, but you must not kill it? That tapeworm scenario is a tough one. What would be the best solution? That is a tough choice to make, indeed! "The best solution" depends on each individual's goal of Dhamma practice. If we aim at Stream-e...

Re: What's wrong with living a "normal" life?

Actually when people stop obsessing about their own personal suffering so much and start to consider the greater good, oneself and others, it becomes clear that either vehicle has ample opportunity through which to make a positive impact on those around them. Then ironically their own suffering star...

Re: Is breath meditation over prescribed?

Even Metta Meditation can lead to final liberation. Metta will lead to good rebirths. Only insight leads to final liberation. They must be practiced together. In the Buddha's teaching these four Divine Abidings, the "greatest of all worldly merit," if practiced alone, without insight into the true ...

Re: Some advice needed please

Sorry Adosa, but your argument about washing your sheets or driving is not correct. The intent in washing sheets is to have clean sheets, not to take life. With metta And the last thing I intend to do is to "take a life." But given the circumstances I'm going to be realistic, compassionate, and think ...

Re: Some advice needed please

Also, I don't think that Buddha ever advocated "burning through" the kamma, especially not via suffering. I think he even spoke against it in one of the suttas, I forgot which. Is there a sutta in which the Buddha spoke in favor of euthanasia, or spoke about the conditions under which the taking of...
