What exactly is delusion and how is it supposed to be removed?

It is our ignorance of four noble truths, the reality of universe and existence.

Re: What do Buddhists think of Jesus Christ?

I'm my opinion, Jesus teached Mundane Dhamma.

Mundane Dhamma do not lead to cessation but it leads to a happy destination. The Buddha adviced us to pay respect for such dhamma.

I bow for Jesus and respect him.

THE STORY OF KHANU KONDAÑÑA (DHAMMAPADA)

Re: Did the Buddha say all suffering is caused by craving?

The Buddha said that all the suffering and purification is caused by oneself and just self alone. If it depends on us alone , why did the Buddha bother teaching and preaching? It seems strange he said that , if he believes there is no-self. The Buddha never said there is no-self or that there is a ...

Re: Explaining Buddhism to my Girlfriend

From my experience, you can change the world as it is impermanent. As your views are also impermanent and the views of your girlfriend are impermanent. As soon as you start to change your views and face the problems as your teachers you are changing your environs. And you only need to start by your...

First of all, should this not be placed in the proper forum, please by all means to the moderators, please place it where it belongs. Also, if this has been discussed here before, please forgive me, as I have been able to find this. In my "practice," it has occurred to me that "conceit" seems to be...

Re: WHO MADE CONSCIOUSNESS?

Where does consciousness come from and why does it exist if there is no "self"? Who made consciousness? Hi O'seeker, The Great One stated that everything rises from a cause and ceases from a cause, that is the principle of paticcasamupada. You can read theravada definition of consciousness here: ht...

Re: Can Buddhism exist without the doctrine of reincarnation?

Is Buddhism dependent on the doctrine of reincarnation? If reincarnation does not exist then does that mean that the Buddha Guatama was mistaken and his teachings are fundamentally flawed? Are there Buddhists who don't believe in reincarnation? Can Christianity exist with out God? If God do not exi...

Re: Enlightenment in Theravada

Hello all, While doing some random thinking, it has occurred to me that I can't think of an actual concrete concept of enlightenment in the Theravada tradition. As a matter of fact, with most of the literature from the Theravada tradition, the term "enlightenment" is rarely used (at least in my exp...
