He don't abandon them... he just went on "buisiness trip".

Buddha's job was to get Enlightened, so he did it, and then all his family was unified. It's like if some astronaut left Earth for 6 years, and then came back. :sage:

Pain may be a very good support for satipatthana on feelings... If you undertand and see it well, when any other feeling arise you see that there is same qualities as pain but less intensive, so you stop interpret them as plesent or inplesent but just as they are...

Rightview, be carefull about your motivation to practice dhutanga, because if you do it because of hatred toward society, its not will be good for your practice :( It said that the only reason to practice ghutanga its not prise or hatred or super powers but only mastering of the Path as Buddha pract...
