Thanks for the advice! I don't know if it's as serious for A&E, but I don't have anyone else to call. I'll just lie down in bed hoping I'll simply nod off. Maybe take a warm shower before that.

Re: 30 hours without any sleep and counting

Thanks again. I tried calling a health carer but no reply and the GP surgery have closed, too. Do you think I should call A&E?

Re: 30 hours without any sleep and counting

Stefan, I think you should contact your therapist (if you have one). You may be having a manic episode (I'm no professional though). Please contact a mental health professional and stay away from stimulants in the interim. Wishing you every good blessing, health and peace! Mettaya, KB I'm not havin...

Re: Abortion poll

For the record, I am against all intentional deprivation of life. But let the women decide, or the women doctors and the women law-makers. It's okay to have an opinion, but it's their bodies, and it's a sensitive issue. A woman can't have an abortion by herself. Women have more than enough wisdom an...

30 hours without any sleep and counting

My mother is worried. I am not. I am not sleepy either. I didn't sleep the whole night, it's now 6:48PM. And I feel like I could go on forever. (That's how I feel, though I'll probably fall asleep tonight.) All I've taken is paracetamol, which contained caffeine, but come on, this is weird. Lay down...

Re: Self-discipline website by DW member?

A year or two ago I remember seeing a website about self-discipline made by a member of this forum whose name I forgot (I don't think he posts anymore), as well as the website address. Does anyone remember? Maybe that was samseva ? I don't know where to find his website, though. Yes! Samseva it was...

Self-discipline website by DW member?

A year or two ago I remember seeing a website about self-discipline made by a member of this forum whose name I forgot (I don't think he posts anymore), as well as the website address. Does anyone remember? I feel all I need is self-discipline, then everything else would fall naturally fall into its...

Re: Abortion poll

How can I possibly vote? I am a man. It should be up to the woman/women. Men should stop making decisions on behalf of women when it comes to women's bodies.

Re: Doubts: cosmology, etc.

I guess I would turn your question on its head a bit in a bit of a psychiatric way... What is it about you that needs these things to be proven true or false? I can't answer for new (the OP), but I suppose it is being pedantic with everything about Buddhism being true. Since truth is of primary imp...

Both groups of people will find it of great use. I didn't really know where to put it.

Re: In the Buddha-dhamma, how should "noumena" be regarded?

I haven't read Kant and I don't quite understand what is meant by "noumena" even by looking at the dictionary definition. But I thought Dhammas include everything that exists. An example of something that doesn't exist, is concepts. Concepts don't exist. But I'm not sure they are not Dhammas.

Best Anatomy software

Hands down best anatomical software of all time: Complete Anatomy 2018. Only thing missing is a full female model (the recent update added the female pelvic region), but it's coming later in 2018. At first I was just interested in learning about the 32 parts in asubha meditation, but then decided it...

Re: All dhammas are personal, not public

I haven't had the time to read through the thread, but: “And what, bhikkhus, are the five aggregates? Whatever kind of form there is, whether past, future, or present, internal or external , gross or subtle, inferior or superior, far or near: this is called the form aggregate. Whatever kind of feeli...
