Re: Critiquing the life of Stephen Hawking

But Stephen Hawking did not do this. He did admit to being a "theoretical" physicist. I'm just saying. To me that just says he was more keen on philosophy than science which is even more concerning. Im sorry, I had to mark you as a "foe", your messages are no longer displayed to me. I never done th...

Re: Critiquing the life of Stephen Hawking

.. when we are going to criticize others the academic credentials are important. this is foolish & reprehensible I know this is late but I did not mean to personally insult you at start of the conversation. I did however do so. For that I apologize. But you also have to realize he was very dear to ...

Re: Structuring lay life

I still can't feel compassion for my former teachers. One of them hit me, another one choked my neck. They will be fortunate not to meet me again, still feeling some kind of revenge. :/ Now I live amongst criminals, and I feel no compassion too. They should be locked in prison, only way to get rid o...

Re: Buddhism and alcohol

I want to go to hospital, but my boss don't let me go. I've got to work. I didn't mention her I'm going to die.

In April I booked a time for an appointment to the hospital. I'll get inside, if I'm still alive next month.

Re: Critiquing the life of Stephen Hawking

he would often retract or change his mind on Could you give me some examples? I can recall only one. That is if I am not wrong that he said we can go back to the past. If I can recall he said that a broken glass will be automatically fixed when you go back to the past. Latter he changed his mind on...

Re: RIP Stephen Hawking

He studied black holes, and stated that information going to black hole is disappearing. His view was later defeated. However he also said that black holes evaporate slowly. This means information will be lost at the end, this is the ultimate death of universe, nothing remains, due to entropy. This ...

Re: RIP Stephen Hawking

He was one of the greatest mind of of the 21 th century. Not sure he travelled to space before his death. He said we have maybe 100 years after earth is destroyed by wars and environmental destruction.

Math and logical thinking made his mind very clear. A brilliant genius.

This thread is dead. Rip: "Monks, do not wage wordy warfare, saying: 'You don't understand this Dhamma and discipline, I understand this Dhamma and discipline'; 'How could you understand it? You have fallen into wrong practices: I have the right practice'; 'You have said afterwards what you should h...

Re: Structuring lay life

I'm humbled by your perfect English knowledge. It's not my mother tongue, it took me a week to figure out what "ordain" means. It makes me harder to access the true knowledge. I live in relatively good conditions, educated, read a lot of books, but what about those poor people living in Africa...

Re: Structuring lay life

In other words, people legitimately do not know how full of sh*t they are. They enjoy pretending to be all Dhammic and wise, yet they crumble at the slightest, most minuscule shift in circumstance. Why? Because feeling and looking like a good Buddhist was more important than actually being one. Bei...

Re: Structuring lay life

Its ok ;) You made a hit on your attachments, it will generate a kamma of nenounciation so its good to test your limits as said by View ;) Reading through the thread, I agree with the "radical party ", Dylan, Binocular and Nwad. Buddha shows the way to end suffering, and imo every sensual pleasure ...
