Re: Americas new segregationists are on the left.

Taxpayer-Funded University LITERALLY Creates Segregated Dorm For Black People Personally, & without examining the specific matter deeply, I do not currently have any issues with this (as long it is not anything compulsory). Vannamacchariya: not being possessive of our ‘color’ (vanaa). ‘Vannaa,’ her...

Re: Americas new segregationists are on the left.

Diversity is on the increase as a long-term trend: http://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2016/03/31/10-demographic-trends-that-are-shaping-the-u-s-and-the-world/ That's not what this article is talking about. Imagine if me and my American friends went to Thailand. In Thailand, we see Thai people wea...

Americas new segregationists are on the left.

http://thefederalist.com/2017/05/23/americas-new-racial-segregationists-are-on-the-left/ The races must stay separate, we can't unite, share with each other, speak each others language, or even stay in the same dorm as people with other skin colors. We are fundamentally different, cannot understand ...

Re: Feminism for men

. But having the same sex standards as men puts women into situations that are more dangerous than what men face, especially in terms of health risks and unwanted pregnancy. Psychological risks. Dukkha risks. One in four women is on psych meds https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/cifamerica/20...

Re: Feminism for men

You really like sex, don't you. chownah Only on days that end with y. What is it you like most about it? chownah When I pull a university girl back to my place from tinder. In bed, alone...staring into her eyes, her white shirt halfway unbuttoned, her black skirt draped on my bed. I feel her breath...

Re: Feminism for men

Sure. I never said or inferred it was. I disagree here. A Sotapanna has virtues dear to the Noble Ones, which would not including womanising, i.e., "macking" & "playing around" with girls, including "sadism". DN 31 clearly denounces a layperson who is a "womanizer" or "libertine". Where do the sutt...

Re: Feminism for men

Lay people not being able to engage in sensual pleasure isn't Buddhism. Sure. I never said or inferred it was. Luang Por Ruesi Lingdam taught that even Sotapannas still want girls, money, and tasty food. I disagree here. A Sotapanna has virtues dear to the Noble Ones, which would not including woma...

Re: Feminism for men

I'm interested in Buddhism because it's my religion, lol. To me, Buddhism is 'dhamma' about suffering & the end of suffering, as in the suttas (rather than is a "religion"). Bhikkhus, both formerly and now what I teach is suffering and the cessation of suffering. MN 22 :candle: And women have sex w...

Re: Ajahn Lees mind exploding unfathomable never before heard teaching on consciousness.

Nirvana is permanent. The five khandas are impermanent. Therefore Nirvana has to be outside of the five khandas for it to be permanent. Yes. So? My Ajahns in the Thai forest tradition teach the eternal nirvana consciousness that returns back home after you become an Arahant. This sounds very weird....

Re: Ajahn Lees mind exploding unfathomable never before heard teaching on consciousness.

Bikkhu Bodhi's opinion: "Nibbana is an existing reality Regarding the nature of Nibbana, the question is often asked: Does Nibbana signify only extinction of the defilements and liberation from samsara or does it signify some reality existing in itself? Nibbana is not only the destruction of defile...

Re: Ajahn Lees mind exploding unfathomable never before heard teaching on consciousness.

This teaching was meant simply as an interesting skillful means of seeing this as "not self". Taken out of context I could see how someone would think it's literal. I've heard thanissaro explain this teaching in a couple different talks. You can remember that not only do you live in your body, but ...

Re: Ajahn Lees mind exploding unfathomable never before heard teaching on consciousness.

The Buddha taught we become like the people we associate with. Could you kindly quote where the Buddha taught this? Thanks. Also, Nirvana isn't inside of the mind, it is an eternal consciousness outside of the mind. Where did the Buddha describe Nirvana as an "external consciousness"? The suttas sa...

Re: Feminism for men

If you don't think women like sex as much as men, you need to sleep with more girls. Don't crap when the little virtuous girl you pick up from the temple asks you to practice sadism. I think women & men often have sex for different reasons; the former often for voyeuristic sensual pleasure reasons ...

Re: Ajahn Lees mind exploding unfathomable never before heard teaching on consciousness.

If a dog were to sit next to us, and think a thought, that thought would arise in our mind. This view is not supported by Buddhist teaching. If this is the case we will never be able to attain Nibbana. We will always subject to the grip of Mara. It is. The Buddha taught we become like the people we...

Re: Feminism for men

They are: by other women. Touche! There's another part in that chapter where he complains about women being portrayed as eye candy and sex objects in magazines. Mannnnn, I wouldn't be caught dead saying something like that to a girl. It's fake, not authentic, and it's going to make the girl shut of...
