Re: Buddhābhisekagāthā

Becoming the Buddha discusses the text, but it didn't provide the translation.

Re: Wirathu - abbot?

Reuters, Guardian, Aljazeera, New York Times and many more reputable news agencies refers to him as the abbot of Masoyein.

Re: Wirathu - abbot?

Thanks. How can we verify this? News articles from Reuters, Guardian etc often mentioned him as the abbot of Masoyein.

Wirathu - abbot?

It is widely reported that Wirathu was the abbot of Masoyein. Is this true?

From Paramatthajotika, khandhesu...

Hi,

How would you translate this text:

Khandhesu jāyamānesu jīyamānesu mīyamānesu ca khaṇe khaṇe tvaṃ bhikkhu jāyase ca jīyase ca mīyase cā

Draft translation:

As the aggregates arises, decay and passes away moment to moment, you, bhikkhu, are born, aged and die.

Thanks,
Rahula

Re: Was the Buddhis Enlightened? Part 1

Just to share that the Pali suttas actually responded to these questions here:

Apannaka Sutta (MN 60)

Cula-hatthipadopama Sutta (MN 27)

Milindapanha-Tipitaka

Hi,

Why is Milindapanha (also, Netti & Petakopadesa) included [only] in the Burmese Tipitaka?

Thanks,
Rahula

Re: Rain-cloud devas etc.

Thanks, Bhante. I didn't ask that because I am doubtful of the existence of deva but because rain is not cause by deva. It's caused by evaporation through the water cycle.

Rain-cloud devas etc.

Hi, How do you understand this sutta? SN 32.57: “Venerable sir, what is the cause and reason why it sometimes rains?” “There are, bhikkhu, what are called rain-cloud devas. When it occurs to them, ‘Let us revel in our own kind of delight,’ then, in accordance with their wish, it rains. This, bhikkhu...

AN 11.16 or AN 11.15

Hi,

Mettanisamsa Sutta (AN 11.16)
http://www.accesstoinsight.org/tipitaka ... .than.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Is this another mistake by ATI? Other sources gave AN 11.15.

Thanks,
