Re: Research shows Porn viewing = less grey matter in brain

why? Precepts are present essentially to reduce craving. Porn is an easy outlet for that craving (sexual craving). It is like you are able to steal without officially being arrested. Further actors who indulge in pornography do it for greed or misfortune/forced. Either ways it is unwholesome. By wa...

omeguysomeguy, Right Speech often entails not speaking, and that's Right..... It was here long before you were born, and shall exist long after you die. . Dont be so sure. I live in India. Official stats say that 17% of the population follow Islam but I live in India. My estimate is that close to 3...

You are wrong. It is. For me, it is. And that is all that matters.

Exactly true. If it matters to you then it is all that matters.

someguysomeguy: You remember previous lives by Meditation technique or naturally?. I'm not sure why I remember. I've had strong enduring samadhi in the past. But as I was saying earlier, I've always remembered my most recent previous human life. Since before I could walk. In fact I even remember th...

Re: Is prejudiced Akusala-Kamma?

You know the thing which delights me is that some people in his forum claim to know more about Hinduism than a person who was born a Hindu, been following Hinduism all his life, interacts with Hindus for 20 + years , who has read all the Hindu scriptures Vedas, Upanishads, Puranas, Bhagavad Gita an...

Re: Anyone who has seen rebirth ?.

Of course none of us here as far as I know has conclusive evidence that literal rebirth happens, but it is still a good idea to conduct one's life as though it does. I do personally have irrevocable and certain evidence of rebirth. Since infancy I have remembered my most recent human life, or rathe...

someguysomeguy, Right Speech often entails not speaking, and that's Right..... Oh dear.... Hinduism? A joke? It was here long before you were born, and shall exist long after you die. Re: Is prejudiced Akusala-Kamma?

On that note, No_Mind, as long as you keep any hateful views to yourself, live virtuously, and purify your mind, you're doing the best you can do. What were the grounds that your interlocutor used to accuse you of prejudice? First of all I will like to clarify that I am not biased against Hindus. I...

Re: Misconception: life is suffering

I think in some sutta in DN the buddha says that tell me any one day which has been completely Happy....without a trace of unhappiness?.......this logic can be extended to weeks, months, years.

It is an undeniable fact that every human undergoes suffering at some point in his life.

Re: Is prejudiced Akusala-Kamma?

I think Hinduism itself is a joke. I dont think it is a religion. Some people pray to Idols and give donations to temples but do some of the most unwholesome Kamma possible in mankind. They still call themselves as Hindus. There is no authority of what is right/wrong in Hinduism. People are free to ...
