You mean the physical sensation of coldness? this would come under the form aggregate (rupa).
Thanks! Does the same apply to seeing things, hearing things, etc?

Since it's not the "feeling tone", does it fall under a different aggregate? Or is it still the feeling aggregate?

Goofaholix wrote:The word "feeling" in buddhist psychology doesn't refer to emotions, just to the quality of pleasant, unpleaseant, or neutral.

It's probably better to think of it as "feeling tone".
So if I were to touch ice and find it unpleasant, that would be the feeling, not the coldness?

Are feelings just the qualities of exp. (pleasant/painful)?

Hello, DW, this has me stuck a little. Some Dhammatalks by Ajahn Chah/Ajahn Maha Boowa have said that feelings are the pleasant/neutral/painful qualities of experience. Do they mean that these are different ways to classify feelings, or are these feelings themselves? In other words: is feeling just ...

Breath speeds up during meditation, why?

When I get into the deeper states of calm, my breath gets gentler, but faster. It's very easy to notice. I've heard that the breath usually gets fainter and slower, to the point where it's harder to notice. It's probably nothing big, but I feel like there has to be some sort of subtle cause which st...

Un-virtuous behavior in dreams = repressing tendencies IRL?

There's the theory floating around which says that whatever happens in your dreams is a manifestation of the subconscious. So according to this, somebody who represses bad behavior will experience that bad behavior in his dreams, but those who truly develop virtue will not do bad things in dreams. B...

How can I deal with irritability in the morning?

I notice that when I wake up, I'm irritable and unmindful for about an hour. I try to be mindful but there's just some block. I've tried investigating, but it's very difficult.

What have you guys found to be the main cause of irritability?

How are others "reflections" of ourselves?

Hello, Dhamma Wheel I've noticed on different spiritual forums that lots of people hold this view that everybody is a reflection of "us". Here's what I think it means: — What confuses me is that this seems to imply that our perceptions are false or misleading; the person we see is not arro...

Re: Is rejecting food after noon sometimes wrong?

Many have suggested the OP just explain his decision not to eat to his family. But I haven't heard the explanation myself. To the OP, why are you keeping the 6th precept? That precept for monks was made so as not to inconvenience the laity. That is, instead of going for all alms three times a day, ...
