Re: Thai police raid Dhammakaya temple in hunt for wanted monk

Phra Dhammachayo might claim to have worked all sorts of miracles, but he cannot credibly claim detachment in the true Buddhist sense. In other words, he has a lot to prove. It doesn’t matter whether, as claimed, he can see how the deceased (including Steve Jobs) are doing in other worlds. Nor does...

http://www.aljazeera.com/news/2017/03/wirathu-silenced-myanmar-top-buddhist-body-170311141258664.html I've not been following these issues very closely. But now that he's been banned from speaking, for only a year, I wonder what his followers will do. I wonder what this will accomplish. I'm interes...

 Work of the same guy doing all those photoshopped Dhammakaya pics, I suppose (?)

Must say his public support for Wat Dhammakaya and Dhammachayo did some good. It's the first time I'm glad he voiced his opinion.

Re: Thai police raid Dhammakaya temple in hunt for wanted monk

I think it is clear what I mean. It is a simple question....actually two questions but I think the second one is the one you are concerned with. Is it better to have wats which appropriate public land for its own use or to have a ruthless dictatorship which returns public lands to the public? Simpl...

Indeed. I realise that I'm wasting my time here.... I've unsubscribed from this thread. (I suppose that's a purpose of you guys being here.) Have fun!

Re: Thai police raid Dhammakaya temple in hunt for wanted monk

Asked how long it would take to arrest the former abbot and whether more forces would be deployed to the temple, Gen Prayut replied: "I'm bored of answering those questions." http://m.bangkokpost.com/news/crime/1210461/regime-ssc-mull-defrocking-court That's the funniest thing I've heard from the PM!

Re: Wat Dhammakaya

On the abbot surrendering (1) If he knew, why didn't he just go to the police station and save the temple the raid? (2) Anyway, instead of sleeping in tents, they can choose to go home, right? (1) If Luang Phor Dhammajayo did, it’s likely he’ll be forced to disrobe. Why? Because DSI made things dif...

Re: Wat Dhammakaya

As for your post about the music video and that your allegation that the human rights may be copied from somewhere, may we know where? We could use some mention of that somewhere. And I don’t think a music video posted on their site is enough to discredit the website. I wonder if you're just preten...

Re: Wat Dhammakaya

On unfair treatment of WPD Do you see any unfair treatments? Yes, the extremely harsh and extrajudicial use of Article 44 on a temple, with unarmed devotees. Are they a national threat to safety? I'd say this is bully. Actually, I also think that it's a bad move. I don't know if human rights have a...

My experience of Dhammakaya has been a very positive one and I regard one of the monks as a friend who even offered to spend a lot of time helping me through a personal problem lately. I am however very puzzled when it comes to Dhammakaya. On one hand, I experience an organisation with devoted peop...

Re: Wat Dhammakaya

I stayed at a dhammakaya temple. Free transportation, free books, free food, free place to stay. Never had to donate anything. Never got a letter asking to donate anything. It very much resembles Dhammakaya tendencies. A Thai friend of mine went to Dhammakaya once. It turns out that a monk would gu...
