My intentions should be coming from a place of compassionate thoughts rather than just doing good. That's really helpful thank you kalyanamittas 😀
When you let go of intentions, the only thing left is doing the right thing

Thoughts are not to trust!

Re: Dangers of Meditation

Now if this is the case, then wouldn't it make the 'idle mind-devil's workshop' saying true? If so, why bother with meditation when it's only going to bring out the worst from inside of you? Inside is outside , and meditation puts you into a position where you can see this clearly, and with time an...

Re: Monastic Alms Round in the West

It takes it's time to make the locals become inspired. one can't beg and nag, or charm people to give their time or resources before they really understands the power of dana. One aspect i have experienced different individuals find intriguing and "pure" is that the Samana doesn't beg for someone to...

Re: Brahmaviharas as a main meditation Practice?

I haven't taken intentionally to BV, but general practice lead me into an intensive period of deep BV practice (3 months), and the power and effects of that practice left me speechless - now practice is "normal" again, but the result of doing this has been harvested . But I didn't choose it, it aris...

Re: Drawing parallels with nature to rationalize Buddhism

As I said above, letting go of all dialectics is the key. Perhaps there are people here who see and experience this. I would love to hear them speak up. For myself, the letting go must take place first, then the nature of mind and all phenomena can be 'seen' as I wrote above. If it is a result of s...

Re: Why are we trying to protect religion?

You may remember the story of how the devil and a friend of his were walking down the street, when they saw ahead of them a man stoop down and pick up something from the ground, look at it, and put it away in his pocket. The friend said to the devil, "What did that man pick up?" "He picked up a pie...

Re: J.Krishnamurti discussion.

Let the mind cease slowly - stand still and let the body find it's natural balance, and when it's holding it self by itself let it move, - and find that "you" are just moving without the self doing anything, just a mindful move in the right direction ... Like all meditation actually is My take on do...
