The path of JK might be to regard the present moment as a personal present, and then it's obvious to anybody how one open a present like that ...

Re: Why are we trying to protect religion?

You may remember the story of how the devil and a friend of his were walking down the street, when they saw ahead of them a man stoop down and pick up something from the ground, look at it, and put it away in his pocket. The friend said to the devil, "What did that man pick up?" "He picked up a pie...

Re: J.Krishnamurti discussion.

Like all meditation actually is My take on do...

Re: Dalai Lama videos

If one take into considerations about how few there is here on this global forum for practicing theravada buddhists, and how few of those who stays here counting a few months or years forward into the future, I would say that both His Holiness and us might be right. Looking at Samsara how it is now,...

Re: Creating a Practice When Life is Hard

As far as I know mindfulness practice was not meant for lay people. Is there any source that tells otherwise? There's the commentary to the Satipaṭṭhāna Sutta. In his gloss on "Here, bhikkhus, a bhikkhu abides contemplating..." Buddhaghosa makes a point of quoting Dhammapada 142 in order to stress ...

70% of practice is to not getting it right

- Ajahn Chah

Very helpful advice, because: who doesn't find this practice "unbearable" sometimes .. :)

Re: Creating a Practice When Life is Hard

Just loved it and wanted to clap until I was tired, but then one sees that , yeah you can clap if you sign in to some "trap" or I don't know, but don't feel for at all - It takes away the power of messages like that!

Hmmm ... :stirthepot:

Re: Has anyone notice no aid from Islamic country for non Muslims ?

It would be incredible if people could start threads with actual facts instead of just whatever.... It would also be nice if people would refrain from “alternative facts” in openly Nazi propaganda (yes, they are back or never left), obvious Russian disinformation videos, defenses of fascism, and cl...

Re: Flesh desires along with mindfulness

Ask your wife if it's okay that you love her best friend also!

If she denies you that freedom, have a conversation about what love is to you both, and from the result you can go on

Re: J.Krishnamurti discussion.

It's refreshing to read what people thought about him just after his death, and i find it's balancing out a lot of the critics from us who just met him indirectly, in larger or lesser extent Jiddu Krishnamurti, the Indian philosopher who was proclaimed in his childhood to be the new messiah but then...
