Re: When to use Saddhiṃ/saha?

When to use Saddhiṃ/saha?
Hello Dhamma Friends, I hope you are doing well! I have very recently started to learn Pali, and I am unclear as to when saddhiṃ or saha should be used in a sentence. For example, why would it be used in the sentence, Samaṇo narena saddhiṃ gāmaṃ gacchati and not Kassako kakacena rukkhaṃ chindati ? I...

Re: The Social Expectations that Stifle Ordination
Thank you for your help.
Bhante, you ordained when you were quite young, is that correct? How did you make the decision to ordain? If I might ask.

Re: The Social Expectations that Stifle Ordination
Do you mean that you are struggling in your conscience because you think your family may have a point? Or do you mean that it’s a struggle to put up with your family badgering you about it? I mean that my family has difficulty understanding my desire to ordain, which is something that weighs heavil...

Hello friends, Over the past few years (since I started learning about Buddhism) I have had the desire to ordain. This urge has grown stronger over the past year as worldy attainments grow more and more unappealing. This in part has been perpetuated by my education, as I am currently a college stude...

We were not alone when he hugged me. Though when he touched my head, as I mentioned previously, we were alone.acinteyyo wrote: I'm really wondering whether there was another person present when you are with the monk in question? It would be inappropriate for the monk to talk to you alone in the first place.

Re: Touching of the head by one's teacher
Thank you all for your advice. Monks can go astray or be confused by their feelings and cultural misunderstandings (eg female disciple comes dressed in what in their culture may be considered provocative, etc). Best to make your side of it very clear. I have always tried to be very respectful and mi...
