Uposatha .ics?

Hi All :

Can anybody point me to an Apple iCal file (.ics) that shows the 2013 Uposatha Observance Days? I found the 2012 version on the Access to Insight site but can't seem to find the 2013 version...

Any help is greatly appreciated!!

With gratitude :

It is a requirement of the Vinaya (monastic discipline).

Metta,

Observer of the Observer

A question that has been floating about in my mind lately:

If the observer is observing the doer, who is observing the observer?

Thank you all for your thoughtful responses; they are much appreciated. _/\_ I stumbled on an excellent Dhamma talk by Ajahn Brahm today (link to it below) and one quote in particular struck a chord with me: Attachment is born by the illusion of ownership. The talk: http://www.theravada-dhamma.org/b...

Re: excellent tool to help manage weight and exercise

I agree that it’s a terrific app for holding one accountable for their consumption-related actions ("That's 846 calories?? Seriously?? Yikes."). When I use it consistently, the weight really does drop off. The key word here is when... ;)

Becoming

Hi Dhamma friends : I often vacillate between intuitively understanding the concept of becoming and questioning if I actually do. I would love to hear, in your own words, how you personally define becoming. Or, if you'd like to point me in the direction of a definition by a Dhamma teacher you feel e...

Re: The obligatory Dhamma themed movie thread

i've been interested in this movie but wary as from the trailer i don't see dhamma. can you specify what is dhamma in it? "Whether a tree, a mountain or an animal (or the movie Samsara), it's all Dhamma, everything is Dhamma." — Ajahn Chah (with a slight remix by Sun). :) A potent movie, in my humb...

Re: An object other than the breath for insight?

Also Sunyata, I'm reading a bit about Nada Yoga. This sounds very interesting! I very much enjoy one idea I just read on meditation on the SOUND of the breath... this might be my key in linking this practice to anapanasati if I ever need to get very serious into this instead of sound. I may be a bi...

Re: An object other than the breath for insight?

Sunyata, I might actually have the ability to do this. Before buddhism I was looking a lot into Out of Body experiences, and although never achieving it yet, you hear an extremely strong vibrational sound within yourself moments before leaving the body, and I can actually hear this sound quite ofte...
