There is no exact way to date them other than radiocarbon dating for the manuscripts themselves. But this does not ...

A collection of Early Buddhist material not found in the Pali Nikayas and Chinese Agamas
Hi everyone, its been awhile since I've posted on this site. :anjali: I'm cross-posting a resource I shared on suttacentral. Over the past year I have been collecting EBT materials that are not from the Pali Nikayas and Chinese Agamas. This collection of mine grew to include Gandharan, Tibetan and S...

Re: New book by Y. Karunadasa
Those are a lot of heavy hitters in Buddhist studies it seems, its making me want to buy it myself. Also, not sure if it is a new book, or a new edition or printing. It seems like the book has been around for awhile https://www.buddhistdoor.net/features/early-buddhist-teachings-the-middle-position-i...

Re: The Idea of the Historical Buddha
Much ado about nothing He's right that most claims about the Buddha are mythical and that there is no solid historical evidence for the historical figure, but none of this is new, as his quoting of Lamotte shows Ultimately, the Dhamma is the Dhamma, whether or not the academy can establish historici...
