Winter Solstice

Today 21 December @ 8:27 Pacific time is the Solstice. Does Theravada Buddhism practice anything special on this date or just ignore it?

If the entire cave is carved out of rock, then the cetiya too is solid rock. It would not contain any remains.
There is a shrine inside it, so it is not solid rock.

Why? If you do not hate him, you are God Dam Idiot.
Sounds like you may be developing a hatred of those who do not hate what you hate. Can you see where this leads you?

Re: Value of interfaith studies

Cannot recall where in the canon this notion is exactly, but Truth or Reality or Dhamma cannot change or disappear whether a Buddha is here to teach about it, or not.

Lastly a verse summation: Energetic and heedful in his tasks, Wisely administering his wealth, He lives a balanced life, Protecting what he has amassed. Endowed with faith and virtue too, Generous he is and free from avarice; He ever works to clear the path That leads to weal in future life. Thus to...

What is balanced livelihood?

Herein, Vyagghapajja, a householder knowing his income and expenses leads a balanced life, neither extravagant nor miserly, knowing that thus his income will stand in excess of his expenses, but not his expenses in excess of his income.

Never mind noble Will who is saving his soul from the ravages of contention, what about the others?

I bet the percentage of posts in News is more than 12% of all DW posts over a month period.
