Re: Comprehensive Website for Commentaries?

Thank you. However, I have to say that I have to translate it by myself, because by my experience of thai version commentary, It is not readable. The translators of that version didn't have good enough knowledge about tipitaka and commentary . Also, they didn't have knowledge about these canons: net...

Re: metta.lk domain name expired. What happens?

I received a reply from Bhikkhu Mettavihari. He said the metta.lk site should be back up and running within the next 2 weeks. He confirmed that he is no longer updating the site, but others are welcome to make updates, as well as use the site data on other websites: I have long ago declared it as i...

Re: Comprehensive Website for Commentaries?

Thank you for the replies -- some interesting things to look over here! I wonder, are there suttacentral like websites in non-English languages, which show suttas and commentaries side-by-side? Perhaps collating these together, alongside what exists of English translations, could serve to inspire m...

It may be take a time to translate, but I will try to do as fast as I can. Don't worry about the disturbing, commentary transl...

metta.lk domain name expired. What happens?

I often use tipitaka from this site. Many translated sutta is available just on this site, not accesstoinsight or not suttacentral.

Re: Question on the Yuganaddha Sutta

When you read S.N. or A.N. You should connect sutta that come before or after together, too. Obviously, the sequence of everything in contexts are very important to understand tipitaka. This is a reason that why I often said that reciting&memorizing, just pāli, are better than reading, and especial...

Various people are called Sotapanna, ie if Taken as a Pair then there is two Stream Entrants, those guaranteed fruit attainment and those who have the attainement, they are very close but one can recollect the peace and has already cut the 3 fetters. magga-cetanā is kamma, which causes phala. Phala is vipāka (resultant) of kamma.

Nothing conflict between MN 44 and SN 12.2 in abhidhamma

According to this topic: The difference between kāyasaṅkhāra-paṭiccasamuppāda and assāsapassāsa-kāyasaṅkhāra , I concluded: There are 2 main type of saṅkhāra words are using in tipitaka: cause-saṅkhāra, that cause effect-saṅkhāra arising, and effect-saṅkhāra, that depending on cause-saṅkhāra to aris...

Re: There are both plural and singular sankhara in abhidhamm-pitaka

You act like a politician who just try every way to discredit your opposite party without caring the fact, no proving, no evidence. I think it is proper for you to provide the evidence. Instead of attacking others, like a politician, why don't you simply provide a direct quote from Abhidhamma showi...

Re: The difference between kāyasaṅkhāra-paṭiccasamuppāda and assāsapassāsa-kāyasaṅkhāra

In my personal opinion, this is possibly an example of one misinterpretation/misunderstanding leading to another misinterpretation/misunderstanding. It can be seen how Abidhamma might be two errors of divergence away from the Buddha. I think this shows it not necessary we all follow Abidhamma. See:...

There are both plural and singular sankhara in abhidhamm-pitaka

I posted this elsewhere, which says dependent origination 'sankhara' is plural in the suttas but singular in the Abidhamma (by Nyanatiloka). In abhidhamma-pitaka , there are both plural and singular sankhara. You never study abhidhamma, directly, so you believe the distorted debate with a very bias...

See khuddakapātha's commentary:
-Saraṇattayavaṇṇanā
-Sikkhāpadavaṇṇanā

In advance, you can see sīlaniddesa [Part I—Virtue (Sìla)], buddhānussatikatha, dhammānussatikatha, and saṅghānussatikatha [CH. VII SIX RECOLLECTIONS] in the path of purification.

Re: Sixteen insight knowledges and seven purifications appear in every word of tipitaka

Is this the sutta you are referring to? Yes, @mikenz66. However, it is just an example. Actually, we can found the words every where in tipitaka. When we recited and memorized pāli, we will see the relativity between words, meaning, sutta, section, nikāya, pitaka, antedate& predate cannons. This re...

Re: The difference between kāyasaṅkhāra-paṭiccasamuppāda and assāsapassāsa-kāyasaṅkhāra

Tipitaka translation version and reading study system are the main cause of your question. If you understand pāli's relation of saṅkhāra, I was browsing a book about Abidhamma yesterday, which said, in the context of dependent origination, the word 'saṅkhār ā ' is the suttas is plural (พหูพจน์) whi...

Sixteen insight knowledges and seven purifications appear in every word of tipitaka

When you use that pāli (and it's practical pāli) to search in tipitaka the 16 ñāṇa and 7 viduddhi will appear in every word of tipitaka. A.N. Sattakanipāta, Sattaṭṭhānasutta : And any brahmans or contemplatives who by directly knowing consciousness in this way, directly knowing the origination of co...

The difference between kāyasaṅkhāra-paṭiccasamuppāda and assāsapassāsa-kāyasaṅkhāra

Tipitaka translation version and reading study system are the main cause of your question. You can't see the answer by yourself because you never recite and memorize suttanta-pāli like the ancient buddhist people did, such as commentary teachers did. Cause-saṅkhāra and effect-saṅkhāra There are 2 ma...
