Re: Nāmarūpa - Named Form?

Perhaps Namarupa could be a state between pure Nama and Pure Rupa.

Re: The Five Khandas

But is does. Why don't you consider trying harder to use yoniso manasikara to read the suttas clearly?
My question is how the chariot simile fitting with Nibbana.
ie: What happened to the consciousness when you attain Nibbna?

Re: The Five Khandas

It sounds like you believe consciousness is The Self (Atman).
Say hypothetically the chariot had the consciousness.
Then chariot is not there but still the consciousness is there just like the wheels etc.

Re: What is the sixth sense base ?

the Theravada description of the 6th sense base limits it to within the mental scope.
Does this mean Dependent Origination is only about mental phenomena?
ie: When it says Salayatana means only mental not physical?

Re: The Five Khandas

This metaphor is directly enacted by Tibetan monks who painstakingly construct a mandala of colored sand over many days, then sweep it away upon completion. The scattering begins with the contemplation of the danger of the aggregates: This is the first time I had some appreciation of mandala exe...

Re: Vipassana is not the way to enlightenment.

I'm currently logging in at a public library with limited time, and it's not practical for me to watch long videos like this. Are you able to briefly summarise his opinion? Sorry about that. I generally use videos as props to stimulate the discussion on a particular topic. It is not necessary to wa...

Vipassana is not the way to enlightenment.

Vipassana is not the way to enlightenment. Just sitting ten hours is a waste of time. The best time to sleep is after 4.00am. You can meditate about one hour at 7.00am. It is more productive. Observing precepts are more important than meditation to attain enlightenment. Is this a fair criticism? htt...

Re: Are spiritual people depressed and unhappy and poor?

Southern evangelical christians are some of the happiest people I've ever met.
When we meet people in a social occasion, temple or a pub it seems they all are happy.
In the OP I am talking about people in general without their mask on.

Re: Do we find four stages of sainthood in Mahayana or Vajrayana?

There is no distinction whatsoever between saṃsāra and
nirvāṇa.
Does this mean without Samsara there is no Nibbana?
Or
Samsara and Nibbana the two sides of the same coin?
