Re: What is my ancestry? who cares.

But we can learn something from that and kill people too.
I think civilians learn to kill from the behavior of army too.
If people in army practice non-violence the civilians might learn from that too.

The most important thing is that you are aware and mindful of your mental state.
Please note you can vote up to five choices and you can change your vote if you wish in a latter time.

Re: What is my ancestry? who cares.

Read my post again, and do not assign to me words that were not mine. Sorry I did not intend to object you. I just want to have a discussion. We already know who our parents and brothers etc. Knowing what was my ten generation is a useless piece of information for me. I agree that for many people i...

Re: Nihilism has poisoned modern society; as Buddhists, we should reject it.

I just wonder who's in a best position to learn Buddhism. Eternalist or Nihilists? So I tried to investigate this in the past but I still do not know the answer. Not believing in God is not such a good idea. https://dhammawheel.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=15942&hilit= Did Buddha say annihilationism is ...

Re: Ajahn Brahm Responds To "Secular Mindfulness"

It seems that name+form represents everything we can be conscious of, so nama-rupa is equivalent to the four aggregates of rupa, sanna, vedana and sankharas. No this is incorrect. Re: Why Dhammawheel is not growing?

I did another quick assessment of the progress of DW.
Now it is averaging 2.79% ie (350/12543*100) users online compares to 2.27% last year.
This is a good indication that DW is growing at a steady pace.
Congratulation to all admin staff not to mention the regular users and contributors.

Re: SN 16.13 Saddhammapatirūpaka Sutta. The Counterfeit of the True Dhamma.

Ajahn Thanissaro's notes show why this is not so easy,
It is strange Ven Thanissaro saying this.
Some people think that his teaching Nibbana as another consciousness seems the counterfeit of the true Dhamma.

Re: Ajahn Brahm Responds To "Secular Mindfulness"

Buddha never said which came first, consciousness or the rupa. Only thing what Buddha said was, "It is as if two sheaves of reeds were to stand leaning against one another. In the same way, from name-&-form as a requisite condition comes consciousness, from consciousness as a requisite condition com...

Re: Sixteen insight knowledges and seven purifications appear in every word of tipitaka

When we recited and memorized pāli, we will see the relativity between words, meaning, sutta, section, nikāya, pitaka, antedate&
predate cannons.
Unfortunately, when we study Sutta translation in other languages we lose this valuable connection.
