Re: Re-birth is like having your own baby (child)

Your child is someone else.
I think this is Attaditthi.
I may be wrong though.

Re-birth is like having your own baby (child)

I think re-birth is like having your own baby (child).
Your child is not you but not someone else.
The only difference is that re-birth occurs after your death.
You can't exist in two places the same time. Can we?

Re: If I am reborn it is not me. So why I care about the rebirth?

If I am reborn it is not me. So why I care about the rebirth? Today I felt that I was a very selfish man to think this way. If I know that there will be another five aggregate who will suffer due to my present action, I have the responsibility to stop that happening. My action is not to fulfill my ...

If camp fire became the grass fire and the grass fire may become the bushfire what sort of a model is that?
What we see is the same fire (is it?) continue due to nutriments even though we can identify them with distinct difference.

And not permanently until Arahat.
Arahant experience (dukkha-dukkhata).
For instance bodily pain.

:goodpost: Sam
Only very few understand the Sankhaara-dukkhataa.
I think that is the worst of all as we even do not know that is there.

Dukkha can be eliminated temporarily.

Dukkha can be eliminated temporarily.
I think Dukkha can be eliminated temporarily in many ways.
Providing food, clothes, shelter, and medicine is one way to do this.
Are there anything else we can do to eliminate the Dukkha of ourselves and others.
Did Buddha talk about this?

Re: All is one. Change my view.

I am curious as to whether or not there are any convincing arguments against this view? Not necessarily just that the Buddha said that oneness is an extreme that he did not teach, I already know that I am wondering if there are any actual arguments that directly refute the idea of "oneness", either...

Re: Can you see the Dependent Origination within you in in this life itself?

Ajahn Brahmali says looking at the suttas, it's only a life-to-life thing, and you can't see it working from moment to moment. I had some arguments with him where I said I'd seen it clearly working moment to moment. The argument changed neither of our minds unfortunately. He continues to be wrong! ...

Re: Suffering of others

What was Buddha's teaching about suffering of others? Buddha's main advise is to eliminate the suffering of oneself. The mean to achieve this is to follow the Noble Eightfold Path. Noble Eightfold Path is practiced in many levels as it applies from a layperson up to an Arahant. Depend on your statu...

Re: What is the sustenance of the Arupavacara Consciousness?

As for Arupa being has 6 senses ? Contradiction, Arupa being has body?
Yes, I thought the same.
What he saying is you experience the six senses but there is no re-birth into them.
This is another contradiction I have to sort out.

Unfortunately, he did not mention the sutta.
Perhaps this could be Abhidhamma.

What is wrong with Sati's pernicious viewpoint?

I have heard that on one occasion the Blessed One was staying in Sāvatthī, at Jeta's Grove, Anāthapiṇḍika's park. Now on that occasion this pernicious viewpoint (diṭṭhigata) had arisen in the monk Sāti the Fisherman's Son: "As I understand the Dhamma taught by the Blessed One, it is just this consc...
