The way i understand it dispassion with material form is pre-requisite for Immaterial Jhana.

The way I understand dispassion is not a pre-requisite for Jhana.

You are using the ten fetters model which does not match ten bhumis model .
Doesn't Mahayana teach Anusaya (latent factors)?

The message of this Sutta is to use the six senses without attachment aversion and ignorance.

Perhaps the act of comedy has its root cause in attachment, aversion, and ignorance.
Perhaps they come under Musavada in extended sense and break the fourth and eighth precepts.
