Pain = Vedana
Suffering = Dukkha

I've been living mostly alone and isolated for some years, have seldom travelled anywhere or met any other Western monks; consequently I'm completely out of the loop and behind the times with regard to suitable and unsuitable wats.

In my opinion, it is a lovely kind of a ritual. My mother was a Kiria Amma and I wish she knew of Buddha Dhamma instead. I think this is some sort of Hindu practice crept into Sri Lankan society. Where does he say it? he says that if you do good you are gold chained if bad then iron chained.
Maybe in another video.
He mentioned that if we sharpen the knife too much it will get blunt soon or ware out.
