Re: Satipathana and Vipallasa?

From the above analysis, it appears Anatta applicable only for Dhamma (sanna and Sankhara).
Is this correct?

Where is the Buddha now?
Perhaps you should ask who is the Buddha.
You can't find a Buddha in the ultimate sense.

Anicca, Dukkha, and Anatta are not three different things they are the three side of the same coin.

Re: The teachings of Ven. Waharaka Abhayaratanalankara Thero

I do not wish to pursue an argument further on this.
I think we had a quite a civilised discussion here.
Even prominent monks like Thanissaro has a different opinion on Anatta.
To me, Anatta means Dependent Origination.
@Lal at least do you agree with me on this point?\

Re: The teachings of Ven. Waharaka Abhayaratanalankara Thero

Could you or anyone else please explain how the concept of "impermanence" was used by the Buddha to explain the arising of suffering in this world? It appears when Buddha taught about Anicca he was not talking about the transient nature of the Rupa. Could you give your opinion on the following post...

Re: The teachings of Ven. Waharaka Abhayaratanalankara Thero

@Lal in the following video in the Sinhalese language, Ven Kumara Kassap clearly explain why the teaching of Ven Abhaya is incomplete. When Anatta is explained as Anartha it distorts the meaning. Because of Anartha (fruitless nature of existence) is lie within the existence and non-existence. What B...

Re: Metta Prayer and Anatta

The way I understand Metta Bhavana is taught for beginners. The objective is to eliminate the anger or aversion. Once you accomplish in this you have to move to the next level of practicing Satipathana. Buddha never said there is no soul. He avoided the two extremes of existence and non-existence an...

It is better to stick with people who disagree with you?

It is better to stick with people who disagree with you?

Sadguru said that it is better to stary around with people who disagree with you rather than agree with you all the time.
What is your opinion on this?
Perhaps this is a topic for the suggestion forum.

Unwholesome Jhananga?

Interestingly I came across the answer to a question I was contemplating on for some time. It appears Vitakka, Vicara, Pithi, Sukha, and Ekagata also applies to unwholesome mental states as well. Is there a Sutta support for this? The following video is in Sinhalese. https://youtu.be/4iMrMxPP1tg?t=1...

Re: What is the difference of Citta contemplation and Dhamma contemplation in Satipathana?

Mindfulness of Teachings is the preferred translation imo.
The problem here is these Dhammas not a monopoly of Buddha.
He just re-discovered it.
