Re: what are all the direct paths

Good question and I never thought about it. It seems to be a translation error. Compare to: ============== “Monastics, this is the path where all things come together as one, to purify sentient beings, to make an end of pain and sadness, to get past sorrow and lamentation, to reach the...

Re: Buddhism and Islam in Asia: A Long and Complicated History

The original article posted on this thread is superficial & often in error thus will probably add more fuel to the fire rather than help. Agree. The biggest problem today is that we trying to solve the present problem with the baggage of the past. What we should talk about is not what happened thou...

Re: Buddhism and Islam in Asia: A Long and Complicated History

What about the "Holy" Roman Empire? Also, I think that at the time of the crusades europe might have been described with respect to christiainity in a fairly similarly way to how the kingdoms of the middle east were at the time of the "islamic empire". Poorly written but I hope someone gets the ide...

Re: The great Abhidhamma Pitaka authenticity debate

Do you even recited or memorized any abhidhamma pāli before distort abhidhamma? or even though sutta pāli? It doesn't make sense to decide something without direct knowledge. I love people like you who try to defend Abhidhamma. I personally believe the billions of mind moment idea even though we ca...

Re: The great Abhidhamma Pitaka authenticity debate

It seems to be a very common error to mix up the Abhidhamma Pitaka and later Comentaries. Mind moments are a much later development than the Abhidhamma... Agree. I had the same error of understanding until you point that out some time back. Here is the discussion. https://discourse.suttacentral.net...

Re: Are Vipassana Nanas silly?

Oddly enough, some of the potential side-effects of meditation are even diarrhea and vomiting...
I can relate to the vomiting. We do many disgusting things without realising it.
Eating certain food, sex etc. could be disgusting and feel like vomiting when you really contemplate on them.

I would say all empires are sustained through some sort of religion. Even the communism is a form of religion.

What we have to remember in this type of conflicts is only the minority create the problem. The majority innocent caught in the middle. All these conflicts are dependently originated. Both parties should take the responsibility.

Re: Activism supporting Rohingya

Your post can easily be taken that we should ignore the suffering of the rohingya.....and others. What we have to remember here is there are two sides in this story. Human crisis and a political crisis. What is high lighted is the human crisis not the political crisis. https://dhammawheel.com/viewt...

It appears Anagamis are born into a different kind of Deva realm.
Perhaps higher than the Deva realm of Sotapanna reborn.
