Re: Which realm does the Mara belongs to ?
I suppose the question is , can a person in level one reaching level two which is higher ? Normally , if you are in the ground floor of a shopping centre , you won't be able to reach say 5th floor , unless using lift or elevator . I suppose I'm mistaken in this case. Volovsky gives a pretty good an...

Re: Which realm does the Mara belongs to ?
I was wondering what realm does the Mara reside at ? It was said the Mara could take hold of the Brahma (god) , is this true ? What makes the Brahma so vulnerable to the Mara ? Isn't there a story about an arahant retrogress because the Mara assumed his(/her?) body ? Thanks . I think that Brahma ca...

Re: Intentional or deliberate lie meaning ?
I studied linguistics. Personally, I think that lying generally means to tell a deliberate statement that is untrue in its application, i.e. it is in no way isomorphic to any subset of real things that have existed or will exist. So, an example would be: Question: "Did you have take out the tra...

Re: Is it possible to enjoy the five sensual feelings once you experience Jhana?
I don't think one can like RIGHT after Jhana. Jhana are really refined states of mind engaging in sexual activity right after is a bit too coarse. Its possible to engage in sensual activities but i don't think one would truly enjoy it. Activities like even listening to the sound of music feels very ...

Re: Developing Nimittas as in Visuddhimagga ?
Meditation is different for each individual, but from personal experience, I wouldn't recommend worrying too much about nimittas. They'll come if whatever you're doing is working, such as breath meditation, metta meditation, etc. If you see a nimitta, just treat it as a good indicator and do whateve...

Re: Recurrent Clostridium Difficile. Any advice?
Maybe oregano could kill C.difficile (or maybe not, because it has already become resistant to the antibiotic) but I am afraid that oregano could also be harmful to the good bacteria that prevents C.difficile from growing. "Oil of oregano comes from a plant that is in the same family as the he...

Re: Recurrent Clostridium Difficile. Any advice?
Drink a few drops of oregano oil with some juice 3x a day for a few days. It's one of the most powerful natural antibacterials out there. Just be careful, because oregano oil can burn if taken undiluted.

Re: High Blood Pressure
Here's an excerpt from the Anapanasati Sutta. It's a good intro to breath meditation: Mindfulness of In-&-Out Breathing "Now how is mindfulness of in-&-out breathing developed & pursued so as to be of great fruit, of great benefit? "There is the case where a monk, having gone t...

Re: High Blood Pressure
I highly recommend body contemplation meditation, specifically around the heart and cardiovascular system. You don't just have to stick to specific organs. You can contemplate the aorta, carotid arteries, veins, lungs, heart fascia, etc. If you follow that with calming meditation, such as breath med...
