Re: Great DO interpretation thread.

Greetings Dinsdale, Is this worth considering? A lot of the "Great" topics aren't really so "Great"... they tend to exist as consolidated topics because either: - The subject in question has a tendency to worm itself into other topics, in which it is not particularly relevant (... in that context th...

Re: Is Alliance for Bhikkhunis a support or a threat to the Bhikkunis order?

Greetings Sarath, Whether they fail or succeed is ultimately up to them, and I feel no strong inclination to support or decry what they're doing. I have great interest in preservation of this old tradition. (Bhikkhuni order) My concern here is whether the gung-ho attitude of some Bhiikuhnis put the ...

Re: Is Alliance for Bhikkhunis a support or a threat to the Bhikkunis order?

Greetings Sarath, (Apologies in advance that I have not taken the time to read the links - I am just going to go by what you have said and quoted...) The Bhikkhuni order is necessarily a separate order from the Bhikkhu order - the Buddha established it that way. Just as in the Bhikkhu order there ar...

Re: Fake News

Greetings, Donald Trump gave a $500,000 speech paid for by a Kremlin bank, and his private foundation had accepted $145 million from Vladimir Putin-linked oligarchs and their Western business partners! :jawdrop: Oh no, wait, that's #FakeNews ... it was actually Hillary . Oh, by the way... how...

Re: Hillary gave Away all our Uranium!

Greetings, Just wanted to see who got the joke. I know what you think the joke is, but I'm not so sure you're going to find it quite so amusing once the current array of investigations are completed and some of your heroes and heroines are behind bars... :stirthepot: We'll see... Metta, Paul. :)

Re: Is it okay to read buddhist text while i am using the toilet, having a smoke?

Greetings, I want to know whether it is okay if i read the dhamma on my smartphone while using the toilet or having a ciggarette while reading the dhamma? Any rules against that? The suttas were transmitted orally as opposed to being written down. As such, I'm not aware of any pre-emptive provisions...

Greetings Pulga, It certainly does not look good for them... FBI informant says Russians wired money in hopes of influencing Hillary Clinton in Uranium One ploy: Report I read a comment today, in which someone succinctly rolled together a few of the concurrent investigations (e.g. Uranium One, Russi...

Re: Trump - One Year

Greetings Pulga, I think President Trump really does love his country, so it isn’t purely a tactical maneuver. I agree. One of the benefits to Trump of the Left thinking that he is stupid, is that they think he thinks in the same linear one-dimensional manner that they do. This assumption he is stup...

Greetings Chownah, Absolutely he trolls them for strategic advantage...absolutely he does that. Any lie that gives him strategic advantage will be told. No, I never said he does it through lies. “No one can resist the truth wrapped in a good joke, and ridicule is your most powerful weapon against th...

Re: Trump - One Year

Greetings Lyndon, So you're basically admitting that you enjoy trolling left wing posters???? Makes sense to me. That's not what I said, Lyndon. To clarify: - Trump trolls them for strategic advantage, using their own aversion-filled mental rigidity about Trump against them... luring them into holdi...

Re: Trump - One Year

Greetings, When he views the parade I'd love the President to trick himself out in khaki or camouflage, if only to scare the beejeemees out of his critics. His critics are so predictable and so easy to troll. Personally I suspect talk of a military parade is laying the groundwork for wedging the Dem...
