Re: Activism supporting Rohingya

Greetings Mr Man, :focus: And here is the topic Alright in case anyone isn’t noticing, Rohingyan genocide is bad. What are people doing, activism wise? Does anyone have any ideas about how to influence international policy via either the UN or the US, or via international NGO’s? It would seem that p...

Re: Are Vipassana Nanas silly?

Greetings, These are signposts, based on the experience of ancient and modern practitioners. Practitioners following various approaches have reported going through these, or similar, experiences. These are signposts, not things that one strives to "attain". If that is so, why are they called nanas (...

Re: Activism supporting Rohingya

Greetings Mr.Man, Yes I had seen that. Maybe you are right but what does "Medal Ranking" mean? I suspect that unlike the regular Olympics, the Oppression Olympics only has one event... namely, participation in the Oppression Olympics itself. With only one event, the ranking is strictly internal to t...

Re: Activism supporting Rohingya

Greetings Mr.Man, Again, no. It's clearly not a tally. Again, look at the middle three podiums, look at the colour scheme... look at the corresponding words Gold, Silver and Bronze literally placed directly underneath each of the middle three podiums. It's a pictorial representation of this... https...

Re: Activism supporting Rohingya

Greetings,

:goodpost:

That said, I am happy to hear more about the relationship between Wahhabism, 9/11, terrorism, and certain government entities should DooDoot wish to start a new focused topic on the matter.

Re: How do you use the quote button in DW?

Greetings Sarath, In Sutta Central when I highlight a sentence it shows the "quote symbol. How to use the same function in DW? I dont think you can. The two closest approaches are to... 1. Quote a post and edit out the extraneous information Or... 2. Copy and paste the required tract of text into a ...

It's a podium. Look at the colour scheme for the top three.

Re: Activism supporting Rohingya

Greetings Mr Man, That's because the progressive stack isn't actually based on data... It's based on the form of discrimination known as "reverse discrimination". Precisely because there isn't data, is the reason why those involved may need to compete in order to vie for recognition as most oppresse...

Re: Activism supporting Rohingya

Greetings Mr Man, How does the diagram represent typical outcomes? Isn't it just fictitious and based on the creators prejudice? No, the process itself is very real. It's known by activists and those who take its execution seriously as the "progressive stack". There is also a concept called "interse...

Re: About Khuddaka-nikaya

Greetings,

I used to own this book but I gave it to a bhikkhu from Ceylon who wanted to digitize it and study it with others.

I *think* he e-mailed me a digital copy once it was done, but I am not 100% sure. I will try to remember to check later on and get back to you.

Paul. :)

Re: Activism supporting Rohingya

Greetings, If I read it wrong then this would appear make what I read about kamma irrelevant to the topic. Not really. Kamma is action, and if we're not concerned about the actions performed by certain individuals then why would this topic exist? Kamma also, is strictly individual... It recognizes t...

Re: Activism supporting Rohingya

Greetings DooDoot, Funny how you jump from the doctrine of Oppression Olympics to the Pali suttas; as though the Buddha would agree with the doctrine of Oppression Olympics. Are you serious? That's not what I said. Please read what is said. Listen properly this time... emphasis added... So, if we se...

Re: Will certain Buddhists on DW please stop disparaging other faiths

Greetings L.N., When one comments about the person, it is "playing the man." Many, many times, we witness Members playing the person, not the ball. Thanks for the data points, but are you able to tie that back specifically to the current Rohingya scenario being discussed?
