I think the cost to be a member on Dhammaloka is about $2 which is a user pays philsophy to cover costs of administration etc.Feathers wrote:Thanks

Re: natural progression of meditation?
Hi Allan and others, Below is an interview that I stumbled upon. I have never heard of the Monk or the Website before but I found the interview excellent reading and very useful in regard to some of your questions Alan. http://www.wiseattention.org/blog/2012/09/07/learning-meditation-from-the-buddha...

Re: natural progression of meditation?
have you read brahm? he implies that only his very specific nimitta method can allow one to enter jhana. he even implies that the nimitta must look they way he teaches or it's incorrect. In regard to the above statement, I dont agree that this is what Ajahn Brahm implies. I have heard this directly...

Re: Raw Diet?
Hi Corrine, It appears you eat mostly Raw but not entirley Raw? Bread isnt Raw and a lot of wholegrain cereals arent necessarily raw depending on which ones. I make a Raw Granola which is one of teh best breakfasts imaginable in my opinion. So there is Raw and there is Raw. As it is commonly thought...

Re: Raw Diet?
Hi Marci, I am not trying to get into a back and forth either but very interested in nutrition particularly of late and open to learning the truths. I have no position other than eating healthy, after undertaking experiments with all diets (ie meat eating, junk eating, vegetarian, vegan and raw). Ac...

Re: Raw Diet?
cooking food increases the bio availability of most nutrients and drastically reduces the risk of contamination I agree that cooking (eg Starchy foods) increases the bio availability, however I wouldnt agree that this is the case for most nutrients? But these discussions could go on for ever as the...

Hi all, I am a Raw Vegan Vegetarian?? Sound confusing...well it is. I have been vegetarian for a while for healthy eating reasons, but mostly out of kindness to the poor animals that suffered for my selfish tastebud pleasures. My awareness and contemplation on what I was actually doing by eating mea...

Re: Raw Diet?
the raw food diet theory is based on flawed understanding of nutrition & how humans absorb nutrients unfortunately. it's not unhealthy, per say, but what makes it healthy is the high intake of fruits and vegetables... not that they are raw Chimps do pretty well on a diet of fruits and vegetable...

Re: What continues from one life to another?
Hi all, Since time began for human existance, the world population of humans has never stopped increasing. Given this, it obviously is true that more people are being born than are dieing. This is one of the few points that create doubt or confusion for me in regard to re-birth (the other is that it...

Re: Thai Forest Teachers
I've read a lot of good things about the Thai Forest Tradition. I'm interested in finding a teacher within this tradition that can provide me with thorough instructions in meditation practice, however I've heard that the Thai Forest Tradition does not emphasize meditation necessarily. Within this t...

Re: Dream World v Real World!
Here is a very simple question for those who still believe this is the real world as it currently stands: The teaching of the Buddha is to allow one to escape samsara, it is telling you that everything is an illusion, a dream and one would need to wake up from that dream.....but yet, you choose to ...

Re: Dream World v Real World!
I can only speak from my experience. When I am asleep, if I hear a loud noise I will wake up. If someone was to put under my nose something that smelt very strong, I would wake up. If I became cold, I would wake up. Therefore in some subtle way, my hearing consciousness, my smell consciousness and m...
