Re: devas and nagas are real entities?

Re: Replacing sensual pleasure with a higher pleasure.

an anagami is not celibate, that's useless unbuddhist dogma. an anagami has both jhānas at will and is not a slave to sensual pleasures... yes, the bliss of jhāna is superior; but if you think about it as a "better drug"... you don't get it. also, someone can be a jhāna junkie but without being anag...

the brain is a receptor of mind, but this is more a personal cognitive science theory than something supported by buddhadharma.

Re: Death and Separation

maitri is stronger than death; you can meet prior friends, wife, family in new lives and recognize them as such.

...but this is tricky (craving, and if not recognized as such can lead to confusion, fear of vulnerabilty, even anger due to this confusion).

if a woman bowed to me, If it was an honest bow, I will most probably hug her and (also if I know her) kiss her head. japanese custom includes answering the bow btw... and japanese zen is a respectable current, modern school that influences even high-tech design (yummy, apple pie). within the Pāli T...

BuddhaDharma and Galdr (odinic and runic magic)

are quite compatible, personal experience. music-aided samādhi with Tool, Therion and Rhapsody :sage: doesn't contradict themselves, Odin becomes an entity similar to Shakka (in category). ratio can be about 9/108 Galdr and 99/108 BuddhaDharma. Galdr becomes mantras, some mantras (specially in buddh...

Re: Life on other planets

my immediate past life was in a habitable planet orbiting Pleione, in buddhist cosmology it is called deva namanarati.
so yes, due to first hand experience there's life on other planets.

my favorite transliteration tool is this one: http://spokensanskrit.de/training/transliteration.php

it is about a sanskrit site, but devanagari is common to both.

Re: Good reasons to reject Mahayana and follow Theravada

trying to put it in a neutral way...

vajrayana chosed to create a schism within the buddhadharma; Zen works for some; theravada is closest to source.

~nominally Zen Rinzai, theravada practitioner; would prefer if there was an ekayana [no schisms].

if I had to fund a center, I will do it as a farmer... like a farmer-monk that provides for himself and sells the rest to build up the monastery/abode.
