Re: Poll: Belief in rebirth
If karma is the thing that affects reincarnation, I don't see any need for some kind of hellguard. That is kinda weird.

It is a transfer of kammic energies, not a soul. Vajrayana Buddhism refers to an i...

Re: About Sotapanna
How does a person know that he or she is a sotapanna or arahant for example?what are the criterias? The reason I am looking for evidence if any for knowing if someone is a sotapanna or not because I need proof if buddhism is right, not because I think I am one because I know I am not.

Re: Death or annihilation as the end point
The final endpoint ie. parinibbana cannot be called death or annihilation for nothing really dies for nothing was born in the first place. There is only the cessation of experience(stress). The point of contention is whether the cessation is indeed final or does it arise again in the future. "...

Re: Buddhism and jinn
They might be spirits channeled by some mediums so I don't think they are residents of hell.

Re: Pre-canonical buddhism
It is said that early buddhism was a dynamic movement and may have incorporated other ideas and practices.do you think this might affect the authenticity of buddhism overall?
