Re: being nicer on here

It may be useful to define "rude" in the context of a forum. My opinion: a personal insult or unprovoked confrontation. Badgering without a point. Thats about it, everything else is style. Oh, one more thing--posting irrelevant music videos in the middle of an important discussion. Thats ...

Re: being nicer on here

Speak only if it is true, beneficial, and timely / done with respect. There is nothing wrong with being direct and to the point, but it is often used an an excuse for harsh speech. Often the most powerful argument shows great restraint. -------------- Dear Buckwheat The truth got me in trouble I be...

Re: The site of ancient Kapilavastu

Hi Dhamma friends, Recently I visited the site of Kapilavastu in Tilaurakot (Nepal). In the site there are many elephant images next to the very old Hindu shrine. The Hindu shrine worships three small standing stones. The elephant images are not Ganesha deity; they are just elephants as such, big a...

Re: being nicer on here

If you distrust his motives, then avoid further contact with him. Only the monk himself can know his own motivations, or whether he broke any Vinaya rule, but I cannot think of a valid reason for emailing a love song to a female lay supporter. Mettā is good, but it can easily turn to rāga if one is...

Re: being nicer on here

Dear Bhikkhu Pesala Since You talked about MP3 May I ask you a silly question? What made a monk email a song to me? As a gift? Or just want to share a song with me? Better ask the monk who sent it. I suppose that he knows that you are very fond of listening to songs. There are very few songs that d...

Re: What to do?

These ppl shud at least have the heart to call the animal rescue team to help revive or alleviate the animals suffering if they find it bothersome and if they find themselves more superior without any heart of compassion. Buddha taught the four brahmaviharas : metta (unconditional love), karuna (un...

Perhaps the disciples or the teacher might be annoyed by this rude interruption, and tell the interlop...
