Dear Friends in Dhamma,
LG2V: Thank you, I think this is what I was looking for.
DNS: As far as I understand, the 969 numerology predates its use by that particular movement.
Metta and peace,
Bowing and thanks,

Re: What is Metteyya's Name, Right Now
Dear Friends in Dhamma, (further research indicates that it is actually 969 Bodhisatta Ave, Tusita, Samsara. Jk, LOL) I'm not saying this should have any significance to anyone, it was just a curious inquiry. Is there any traditional or mythological name attached to the Bodhisatta at this time? Mett...

Re: This Diagram
Dear Venerable Sir,
Thank you for the reply and the detail. I would then make out the half moon thingys to be the two types of body consciousness, accompanied by pain and pleasure. Does that sound right?

Re: What is Metteyya's Name, Right Now
Dear Aloka, Thank you for your reply. However my question isn't where he abides, as my understanding is that all bodhisattas reside in the Tusita Heaven prior to taking their final birth. I'm wondering if anyone knows his current name/appellation. The Lord had his own name up there, but I can't reca...

Dear All, would anybody care to give details about the attached diagram? I'm sure it is a table of the cittas, but am wondering about the little half moon thingys? Is there a site anyone knows of that details this or shows how it is used as a teaching aid? Metta and peace, Bowing and thanks, Abhaya ...

The "Most Realistic Statue of the Buddha"
Dear Friends in Dhamma, Many years ago, possibly on Dhammalist, someone posted photo under heading similar too, "The Most Realistic Buddha Statue." The photo was grainy, perhaps a bit dark, and the statue had a capping of snow on it, as I remember. None-the-less, perhaps because of and not...

What is Metteyya's Name, Right Now
Dear Friends in Dhamma,
Is there any mention of what name the current Bodhisatta, Metteyya, goes by in his current birth?

The Contracted/Constricted Mind
Dear Friends in Dhamma,
What exactly is meant by the contracted/constricted mind, as mentioned in the Satipatthana Sutta? What strategies or antidotes does the Buddha or do the commentaries have to offer?

Bowing and thanks,

Re: Shouldn't abyāpāda·saṅkappa cover avihiṃsā·saṅkappa?
Dear Kumara, I would agree that there will be an overlap or rather, that the two will be found together, perhaps the majority of the time. However, one might wish harm upon another out of greed, or sheer ignorance. Eg. In striving for a utopian paradise, one just happens to put millions of people to...

Re: Shouldn't abyāpāda·saṅkappa cover avihiṃsā·saṅkappa?
Dear all, I wondered about this distinction for some time as well. In one of his talks, Ajahn Sona clarifies: Ill will is always accompanied by pain/displeasure, not so with cruelty. Cruelty can at times seem fun or glorious (to the worldling.) Also, you can be angry at someone, without necessarily ...

A Bunch of Questions (mostly re: the arising of ignorance)
Dear all, a few queries: 1. At MN 9, the Ven. Sariputta gives the arising of the taints as the origin of ignorance; is there any place in the suttas where the Lord Buddha says the same? 2. I recall the Buddha stating that the five hindrances are the nutriment of ignorance; anyone recall where? 3. Ca...

Maxim of the Arahants (two questions)
Dear all, I was wondering if anyone knows of any word by word or line by line analysis of the maxim of the arahants: anicca vata sankhara... tesam vupasamo sukho (DN 17/SN 15:20). An essay, an article, or a dhamma talk on this verse would be awesome. Further, i once read somewhere that this verse is...
