How does the diagram represent typical outcomes? Isn't it just fictitious and based on the creators prejudice?
No
Except the graph is not based on any actual data & you can find the same image with different labels on the bars.

Re: Contemporary threats to free speech

It is not a red herring. The context that you put you response in does in the english language using commonly held principles of logic and inference mean exactly pseudobabble said. While you may think that your words convey a particular meaning and that meaning is important it is just as important ...

Re: Contemporary threats to free speech

Hi Pseudobabble This is a complete red herring you are chasing but here goes. I was responding to pulga's Comment Certainly Mr. Sweden doesn't deserve to be sentenced to prison. And was specifically referring to "Mr. Sweden" who incidentally isn't being sentenced to prison as far as I know . Now if ...

Re: Contemporary threats to free speech

Hi Pseudobabble So..... all those people murdered by their evil governments (USSR, Nazis, Khmer Rouge, there are many) deserved it, because they broke laws instituted by those murderous governments? Seriously, think what you are actually saying. That is not what I am actually saying. To be more dire...

Re: Right Speech: Getting Personal

You do realize, though, that people have reported your posts for repeated personal attack? Hi binocular How do you know this? The perception that you say you have of yourself and the perception that many posters here have of you, differ greatly. I imagine that would apply to most people in this for...

Re: Contemporary threats to free speech

Hi pulga Certainly Mr. Sweden doesn't deserve to be sentenced to prison. I guess that would depend on what he did and the laws of the land in which he lives. Europe seems to be going in the wrong direction when it comes to individual liberties. In my experience, in the UK, I don't think that is true...

What is the message?
For me, it isn't so much the message but the right to express it.
Hi Pulga
Okay. The particular message in the tweet seems to be false (a distortion at best). What is your opinion on spreading falsehoods?

Re: Will certain Buddhists on DW please stop disparaging other faiths

I doubt anything can alleviate that angst [edit: or moral and emotional panic], because that angst seems to be linked to people's most fundamental questions and fears about life, the meaning of life, justice, and other such fundamental issues . Which angst are you talking about here? The angst that...

Re: Contemporary threats to free speech

Greetings Mr.Man, Paul. Is this true? Yes, see Sam Vara's comments. My reading of the article, linked to by Sam, is that the tweet is not true. Here is something about Peter Sweden Interesting how you seem to imply that smearing the messenger will somehow negate the message. Good luck with that. Wh...

Re: Will certain Buddhists on DW please stop disparaging other faiths

I don't see what sense that would make. That the mentioned post was inappropriate, offensive and disrespectful has been well pointed out in the thread. People can say offensive and inappropriate things, and they can be called out for it, and discussions evolve in ways good, bad or ugly, and when mo...

Re: Will certain Buddhists on DW please stop disparaging other faiths

I think discussion of other religions is okay and even some comparative analysis, but it should be done civilly. Some posts have crossed the line, with use of rhetoric over logic. Certainly name calling and advocating urinating on a religious figure is inappropriate. Hi David Read the first paragra...

Hi Pilgrim
Not sure if this gives you a definitive answer - "The Samaneri Ordination (Pabbajja) of Sayalay Vimalanyani took place on Tuesday 17th February 2015 in the Big Cave. Ajahn Sujato performed the ordination."

Meanwhile, I still don't know how there can be innocent victims when there is kamma. Hi binocular I don't think we need to think in terms of innocent (or the reverse guilty) in relation to kamma. Kamma is not a judge I think it is also worth remembering (not that you have forgoten) is that the "'si...
