Astral Projection

Has anyone here had an out of body experience, with or without conscious effort? I'm just looking to hear what the experience is like. I know there's a lot of resources out there but, I want to hear from someone here as well...

Re: A few questions about nibbana

Here we go: 1. Is Nibbana a different reality, or just a different state of mind? 2. If it is a different state of mind, then is it a subjective reality? 3. If nibbana is an objective reality that lies outside the 6 sense sphere, how can we perceive it through our senses? I don't know. This morning...

Re: Astral Projection

That sounds scary, but lucky in a way. I've been trying to astrally project for ages, and I haven't had much success. I have been trying to induce it by meditating but couldn't get that experience again. Several times, I came so close to the stage of hearing deafening noises but that scares me so m...

Re: Astral Projection

Are you sure you weren't dreaming ? Yes. Absolutely certain without any trace of doubt that I was awake. I thought I was awake and that I clearly saw Santa Claus waving to me outside my bedroom Okay but I saw no santa. I saw my lifeless body lying there like a used sack. It was real. Had you had an...

Astral Projection

Woke up in the middle of the night to deafening loud noises and the whole body feeling like it was electrified. Started at the ceiling absolutely terrified and not knowing WTF is happening. Several seconds later, I got off bed, walked to the door, and was looking at my body. I screamed and instantly...

Re: I'm trying to attain some inner peace here

Appreciate your answers everyone. I have been travelling so could not answer. I meditate with my eyes closed. I focus on the breath going in and out. Usually focus on the sensation of the breath hitting the nose, going into the lungs/stomach area and then leaving the body through the nose again. If ...

It is not possible to understand Nibbana by words.
You have to become a practicing monk at least to get a taste of Nibbna.
However, Sotapanna also has some idea about the Nibbana.
Okay. I like it.

Re: I'm trying to attain some inner peace here

Best advice I have heard is that if if more than 1 second makes you tense try 1 second. Come back to it. Repeat. Observe without comment your mind as it becomes distracted or agitated or focused on breathing or other meditation object. I've been doing that for months. One might think I would have i...

I would say "after death"
Which means you know what Nibbna in this life isn't it?
Then Nibbana after death is the same as the Nibbana while you alive except there is no five aggregate.
I dont get it...

Re: I'm trying to attain some inner peace here

...Is this just me or is there anyone else who finds it practically impossible to quieten the mind? ...Any tips that can help me? I recall being on retreat and having this problem -- for a long time (could not even count to two! -- was trying to stay with the breath). The breath is intended to be a...

Any tips that can help me? Yes, I have tried counting. I have tried metta. I have tried walking. I have tried focusing on discursive thoughts. I have tried coffee. Nothing works.
Have you tried doing other things than meditation...?
Like?

I'm trying to attain some inner peace here

Trying to meditate. The mind simply does not stay on the breath for a simple 5 seconds. I have been doing this for months. What is wrong with me? Vipassana has to be done after achieving some level of samadhi, right? I guess they recommend at least the first jhana before u do vipassana. I am nowhere...
