Re: Are Vipassana Nanas silly?

I was doing Mahasi meditation which I have been doing for the majority of my Buddhist path, and I have seen fear based on seeing impermanence, disgust, and I have experienced the sunset to be rancid, not in thought but in a inuitive kind of vision or seeing/feeling. They are not silly.

Re: AN 10.76: What do shame, remorse, and negligence refer to?

i just looked at b Bodhi and Bhikkhu nanamoli's translation in the majjhima nikaya and it doesn't say one should feel remorse. But in the removal of distracting thoughts sutta a method for mental purification is to see ones unwholesome mental action as a carcass of a snake dog or human were hung aro...

Re: AN 10.76: What do shame, remorse, and negligence refer to?

the Rahula sutta exhorts us to feel remorse even after an unskillful mental action, this is how I've been training recently and it is simple and effective in increasing well being.

Re: Victims of Buddhism

Read the shorter and longer discourses of the lions roar sutta. Buddha was tolerant and spread good will to other religions but was not shy in saying a religion had to have the 8 fold path In it for a practitioner to reach one of the four states of sainthood. These Buddhists are dark hearted period....

Christianity is like the gradual path of Buddhism generosity morality and renunciation which leads to heaven or favorable human realm. Buddha said that not everyone is ready to be taught the highest teachings on Buddhism. That's where Christianity can come in for different personality types.

Too much intellectualism and scholar, in El Salvador it is Christianity that is the only viable form of rehabilitation for former and current gang members according to the gang members themselves. Homicide has dropped in that country because of church intervention.

Re: A. L. De Silva's "Beyond Belief"

I love Christianity. They do more charity work than Buddhist organizations. Christianity is a solid religion or at least what Jesus taught. I agree the new and old testaments are pretty diabolical. But saying our father prayers or the Jesus centering prayer and having Jesus as a role model or prayin...

Re: The Buddha's Teachings on Social and Communal Harmony. III. Dealing with Anger.

Tibetan Buddhists like the Dalai Lama do analytical meditation which is contemplating the repercussions affects, causes of anger. This is another method to control anger. It's good to contemplate this way before you get angry so you can cultivate a new view point towards anger.
