Dear everyone,
Is there any reason why one shouldn't bring an iPhone (in airplane mode of course!) to a retreat and use as alarm bell?
My very best regards?

Re: Stream-Entry/ordination/cancer
Greta ideas! I will consider/look into all of them. This is, as you said, indeed an excellent remainder of impermanence, and I also feel that I've really progressed in my understanding of the Dhamma due to this situation. So it can actually, strange as it may sound, be called a gift. Anyhow, next Mo...

Re: Arahants
Dear friends, May I ask who this Ven Sumathipala may be? Never heard of him before. Are there perhaps any Dhammatalks or -books available online? The same poster also mentions a few Venerable nuns that I am not familiar with. Who are they? Are there any resources from them available online? My best ...

Thanks for your time, support and friendliness my dear friends! Has anyone visited Muttodaya in Germany? How is that place? Do you know anything about style of practise? Etc. The place certainly looks great to me!

Stream-Entry/ordination/cancer
Dear everyone, I have been a member here for a very long time, but also a very quiet one indeed! Now I am having some personal problems and figured that maybe someone here might be able to give me some guidance. If that is the case I am sincerely grateful! Since a longer retreat at Nissarana Vanaya ...

Hello from BKK!
Hello everybody! After having dropped in here occasionally for a very long time now (a couple of years actually), I have finally decided that it could be nice to become an active member. I am a young swedish man who takes religion and true spirituality more seriously than what is usualy common in th...

Imaham Bhagava attabhavam tumhakam pariccajjami
Hello everybody! I came across this pāḷi phrase: " Imaham Bhagava attabhavam tumhakam pariccajjami ", and it was translated as “ Blessed One, I relinquish this my person to you. ” But the diacritical marks are missing, aren't they? So what I am wondering is if any pāḷi-expert here could pl...

Re: I want to be a monk in USA
Hello there! Do you live in Sweden? Är du svensk? May I ask why you specifically want to ordain in the United States? The two most obvious places I assume would be: Abhayagiri and Wat Mettavanaram . Maybe it could also be worth to check this one out: http://www.floridabuddhistvihara.org/ They seem t...

Another question regarding the Dhammakaya movement, if that is OK...? I just found this article on the Buddhist Channel: http://www.buddhistchannel.tv/index.php?id=52,10025,0,0,1,0 The article is about foregin English teachers, working at temples in Thailand, and one of them being Wat Luang Phor Sod...

Re: e-learning course by Ven. Bodhi and Thanissaro in 2011
You got me there indeed... I should have realized! Anyhow, if I may humbly quote a sutta: "Thus, Rahula, you should train yourself, 'I will not tell a deliberate lie even in jest. ' - Ambalatthika-rahulovada Sutta: Instructions to Rahula at Mango Stone" (MN 61), translated from the Pali by...

Wow!
That's seems interesting indeed! It is very possible that I also would like sign up. Approximately how much time is a pupil expected to spend on this course each week?
With metta,
Mikael
