Re: Buddhist resources on coping with pain

I am very happy to read this post. Thank you very much for posting all those helpful information. Once I asked Bhikkhu Samahita and when he said 'when there is a body, there is pain'. I felt that quote very 'awakening' as I never thought about physical pain in that way. I read this a while ago - Pai...

I second this beautiful verses. May James have a rebirth where he can hear and practise the Dhamma May James have happiness and the causes of happiness May he quickly progress on the path to Nibbana and never fall back. May those he has left behind be free of mental and physical pain. May you be fre...

Petition to stop stoning

I saw this in Bhikkhu Bodhi's facebook and would like to share his message. '15 people are on death row awaiting death by stoning in Iran, but yesterday a woman was saved from this brutal killing by a massive international campaign. Global voices of condemnation saved her. Now I just signed an urgen...

Hello,

I think Ajahn Amaro is the new abbot of Amaravati Monastery... Not Chithurst :-)

Re: Meditation with chronic pain

Hi simplemind, I have had pain for the past few weeks and it got to the point that even sitting was not possible. Sometimes I still cannot cover my feet with a duvet while asleep because the light weight of a duvet is causing soreness on my feet. It is quite difficult to sit and meditate for me now ...

Re: Introducing Hsiaoshuang

Hello,

Welcome to Dhamma Wheel!

I felt like I found a new world after practising Vipassana meditation! It is indeed amazing that Gotama already expressed many insights into lives and lay lives even 2500 years ago and they are still most relevant in today's society and world!

Welcome again!
