Re: Phra Ajahn Plien Panyapatipo passed away?

I found some news on a German website :

"Samstag, 26. Mai 2018 (Vorabend)

19 Uhr Gedenkfeier zum 100. Tag nach dem Ableben von LP Plian Paññapadipo"

100 days after the death of ajahn plien they will do a ceremony.

Sad moment for the world.

Re: Why so few Western Buddhists?

5 of my friends are living in Buddhist temple since 10 to 30 years. But on the paper , they are still Christians. In my country it's not good to leave the Catholic Church for some reasons.

But real Buddhism will not attracte many people.

Re: how to meet buddhist singles

After a 3 month retreat in Thailand, I got more telephone numbers than ever before.
I am not longer interested in relationships, but I made beautiful friendships in retreats.

I wish you luck and peace.

Re: Suggestions for ordination at age 53 in Asia

I have spend some years in Thailand with 8 Precepts, and for a year as a Monk. You have to find a temple which supports the elder Monks , specially the westerners. It's easy to ordain somewhere in Thailand, but it's difficult to find a place with real support. Specially the famous places are already...

Re: Can devas make progress towards nibbanna?

Sometimes when our mindfulness is very strong, we are able to see such things. But it's not so important for our practice.
But if we are able to help, we should help.
It's a good exchange for both, Devas and Humans.

Re: Can devas make progress towards nibbanna?

Devas can work together with humans.
We can invite them to our meditation.
We can share loving kindness towards the Devas.
In some points they can help us and made some merrit.

Without out us, they will stuck in their realms.

Re: How common is stream entry?

Its very common, but most people don't speak about it. I made it in my (!) first retreat. We had not many books and dhammatalks. We had to usa a Mantra (buddho) During my first retreat, I had no idea about the different stages of enlightenment. We had only one interview / week. For 2 or 3 days I tho...
