Re: Dhammas

Whatever supports something puts it in its place if we are speaking about essential support. If one takes away some essential support, then whatever is essentially supported becomes amorphous. The support that is meant here is not different from an act of binding, such as when the law binds one to ...

Re: Dhammas

I propose that the dhammas spoken of as being ultimate are patterns or principles and not events; the events as they concatenate constitute the concrete pattern, of course. In other words, dhammas in themselves are what 'can be'; they are intelligible possibilities. The perception of actualized dha...

Re: George Soros is not the evil mastermind behind a liberal conspiracy.

But I suppose the term "liberal trolls" is neither an inappropriate label nor an effort to smear. That kind of thing is ok here, whereas even using the term "alt-right" with reference to commentary can get one banned. Are you coming to this website at the behest of Media Matters? No one is accusing...

Re: Contemporary threats to free speech

If you have noticed an influx of liberal trolls in comment feeds and throughout social media sniping the top comments on say: fox news facebook comments. Or Donald Trump’s twitter, it is important to understand, these are not normal people, this is a concerted effort by George Soros funded Media Ma...

Re: POTUS 2017

This effort to railroad the president towards impeachment probably isn't sitting well with most American voters. I believe Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer have a sense of this, in that they came out publicly against the idea a few weeks ago.

Re: The Truth About The Rohingya Lie

There does seem to be a growing presence of Wahhabism in the region . ARSA is actually headquartered in Mecca. The Rohingya Menace : A Conspiracy by Saudi and Pakistan ? This doesn't mean that all Rohingyas are the cause of the crisis, but it does show that resolving it may be far more difficult tha...

Re: Muslims, Islam, U.S.A and Europe

The problem is not that they are in breach of EU rules; the problem is the rules themselves. A bit like why the majority of people in the USA would probably be against a set of imposed rules which allowed anyone from North or South America to settle permanently in the USA. We do of course allow peo...

Re: The Truth About The Rohingya Lie

So long as the insurgency is being funded from abroad there is going to be a conflict. Aung San Suu Kyi is right that it is terrorism that is causing the communal unrest. Defeating ARSA is the linchpin to resolving the crisis.

Re: The Truth About The Rohingya Lie

I don't mean to justify the severity of the Burmese governments crackdown on the Rohingya, but as noted in the video the Asian press is reporting the situation differently than the Western press. The Asian press seems to be covering the story with a more balanced nuance that comes as more accurate a...

Unfortunately my inadvertence has detracted from the seriousness of what is actually occurring in Germany. It really is a troubling story, and portends a dark future.

Re: Activism supporting Rohingya

What we have to remember here is there are two sides in this story. I think you make a good point. The Rohingya insurgency is seldom if ever mentioned in the stories of the atrocities committed against them. I've always felt that if the West hadn't tended towards takings sides in the early stages o...

Re: Contemporary threats to free speech

Okay. The particular message in the tweet seems to be false (a distortion at best). What is your opinion on spreading falsehoods? Certainly Mr. Sweden doesn't deserve to be sentenced to prison. Europe seems to be going in the wrong direction when it comes to individual liberties. Suzanne Nossel off...

Re: Some Understanding Problems about Fundamental Structure by Nanavira

So these o's and x's are a big part of what I'm struggling with. So are we saying that if I'm attending to an o in my field of vision, lets say this laptop, the x stands for the negative eye, and all three os stand for the laptop? (I'm setting the singular whole aside for a moment) This is a big pa...

Re: Global Warming: Recent Data

The question is when will alternative energy become cheaper than its more pollutive counterparts. Solar and wind are already the cheapest source of energy in many places and situations already. ...
