I dont know.
Im sure some new rules could be of benefit in this century. But also the danger of changing things is probably greater. Maybe today is "no tea", but tomorrow some absurd idea.

Re: "Reverse Nibbana"
Yes ,you can theoretically stop dukkha by "getting what you want" whenever you want. If you want a yatch, you suffer until you get the yatch. Once.you get it dukkha stops, until you become sad because it wasnt enough to fulfill you. Still, you needed to crave the yatch before obtaining it....

Re: How to deal with cowardice and anxiety?
If you for example have cowardice and anxiety about jumping to water. The easiest way to make it dissapear is to become good at water jumping. On the contrary, cowardice and anxiety become bigger if you dont jump to water and keep thinking about why you didnt do it, or if you try to make the anxiety...

Since there arent so many, and they are more advanced that most monks, they just get very close to the sangha and teach, keeping that as a profession or some job that helps people.

Re: kamma of ordaining
Hi: Its more like indirect kamma what could make a person wanting to ordain not be able do it. For example if you like gambling because of some old habit or kamma, that could lead you to being in big debt in this life. And that can be a problem for ordaining. Sure, there could be some direct kamma c...

Re: Is meditation necessary for stream entry?
Hi, It is clear from the suttas that you dont absolutely need meditation for the attainment of sotapanna, only deep understanding of dhamma. But that was at the time of the buddha. Where all the time you would see people attaining sotapanna after hearing the buddha talk only once, attaining anagami...

Re: The kilesas Are Sneaky - How do You Deal With Pain?
Hi: Yeah probably everytime you practice "taking the pain as source of practice", you end up giving more attention to the unpleasant feelings. As a buddhist the right effort is to pay less attention to the pain, allowing it to be there. Dont go looking for suttas of people in agony, dont s...

Re: How does one feel about 'thirst'?
Hi:
Normally it feels like an urge, a disconfort in body or mind due to not getting yet something you want or experiencing something you dislike.
At a deeper level is like a movement, an entanglement with any of the 5 aggregates, wanting to affect them, change them and taking them personally.

Re: Has anyone had the same experience as me?
Hi,
Whatever that was, it was important to you.
The thing with this experiences is that if you want to repeat it, it will not happen again (because you are craving that state).
Just move on with your life with what you learned. Dont try to find the secret answer in the suttas.

Its about balance.
Some people at a certain time need urgency, and in other time "complacency".
