Thoughts are just thoughts, they come and go. Some thoughts are a product of delusion sure, but the thought itself isn't the delusion it's caused by the delusion. Delusion is not like the hindrances, it's not a temporary phenomena that arises and you can combat it with an antidote. Then why is this sutta named "The Removal of Distracting Thoughts" which includes the removal of (unspecified) arising delusional thoughts and how exactly to remove them...
