Thanks.
It is great if they secure the place. It is only one hour from NC by public transport.
It is interesting to see monks meditating with the cross and mother Mery in the back ground!
Please keep uninformed the progress of the fund raising.
Will do!

Re: Dana - suggested places to make donations

I have been there and have been involved (albeit in a limited capacity) side the beginning. The bhikkhu and bhikkhuni who are the leading teachers are amazing and they bring in monastics from all over.

Re: Dana - suggested places to make donations

Hi everyone, This great organization in the NYC area is looking for a permanent home. They need funds to buy an old monastery to serve as a vihara. Anything you can give would help! https://www.facebook.com/donate/392724534783241/10157106015450907/?fundraiser_source=feed&__xts__%5B0%5D=68.ARC833rRe6...

Anumodana for this post and all those like it. Even if everyone had less than pure motives I'd rather see this than the endless debates. :anjali:

Re: Uposatha Observance Club

Happy New Moon Uposatha (May 4th 2019)!
Rain soddens what's covered
& doesn't sodden what's open.
So open up what's covered up,
so that it won't get soddened by the rain.[2]

Re: Uposatha Observance Club

Happy uposatha! The Bak Poya day is the full-moon of April. This holy day celebrates that the Buddha visits Ceylon for the second time to reconcile two local nāga chiefs Mahodara and Cūlodara, uncle and nephew, who had fallen into war threatening hostility about a jewel-beset throne... The story sho...

Re: Uposatha Observance Club

Happy uposatha! For those interested and so-inclined, I always find it particularly beneficial to offer Sangha-dana on the uposatha. Wishing you all a fruitful observance.

Give them a call and try to nod off in the meanwhile. Let us know how it works out. Take care!

Re: 30 hours without any sleep and counting

Yes, I would. I'm concerned about the trembling. Drink some water and just rest for a bit too.

Re: 30 hours without any sleep and counting

As I said, I'm no expert. 30 hours without feeling tired is definitely beyond normal. I'm concerned and think you should speak with a professional. You will, however, do as you want. Be well.
