Re: Burmese speaker to help proof listen Burmese suttas

Done! I have uploaded my Tipitaka Myanmar Translation Audio Files in my google drive. They will be permanent links, which therefore you may link to that page. They are all together size 1.3GB and in mov format, so Quick Time Player is suitable. https://googledrive.com/host/0B3NAmJXqFh4nOUFmRC1SNDdaV...

Re: Burmese speaker to help proof listen Burmese suttas

Welcome to Tipitaka Myanmar Translation Audio Files. All are in mov file format and 1.3 GB in size. They are produced by DPPS, Myanmar. There are sound files of Tipitaka Myanmar Translation "30" books. Sounds are converted from cassette 800, so not very clear but work well. Go to my google drive pag...

Re: Burmese speaker to help proof listen Burmese suttas

Now I'm trying to upload them in google drive.
It is about 1.3 GB and in mov format. So Quick time player is suitable for this.
For my country's very poor connection, it will take a long time.
Having done, I'll report you here.

With Metta.

Re: Burmese speaker to help proof listen Burmese suttas

Tipitaka Myanmar Version Audios are not accessible in www as much as I know. And another day when I was post the above one, I sought my 3 CD roms. I found them, but disks are not readable because of no use for a long time. But I think I can find them from someone. But I cannot upload them because of...

Re: Burmese speaker to help proof listen Burmese suttas

I think they are already done. Myanmar Translation of Pitaka are issued a few years ago. In the cd rom, audios are attached already with sounds of an old man or old monk. (Your sounds are of young man, it is great.) And later, I got dvd rom, in which that audios are converted into mp3 format. So you...

Re: Help me please, Pali Atthakatha English Translation

Maybe you misunderstand me a little. I agree that it is useful to study the commentaries in order to translate the Tipitaka. But the commentaries should be studied in Pali, not in translation. Only then can their real relevance to the Tipitaka texts be seen. Therefore there is no need to translate ...

Re: Help me please, Pali Atthakatha English Translation

I mean that the key terms are poorly translated. The Pali terms require careful approach. As to this matter, it will be proper not to say something. However, I must say some facts. It can be said that those translations are out-of-date nowaday because of their period. Some say that in comparing man...

Re: Help me please, Pali Atthakatha English Translation

My general impression is that the Atthakathas are very difficult to translate. You can translate the stories contained in the Atthakathas, but the grammatical analyses are so closely tied up to the Pali language of the Tipitaka texts, that they often give very little meaning if you try to translate...

Re: Help me please, Pali Atthakatha English Translation

Grateful to all. I will try for my work. But I don't understand the words: I have seen the Union Buddha Sasana Council edition you mentioned. Unfortunately the translation there is of poor quality. Do you mean the edition is not proper for reference or paper are not good. I don't know what you mean ...

Thanks for your aid. But Buddhist Legends , the Book of Dhammapada Commentary in http://www.palitext.com/palitext/tran.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; is not a real Atthakatha, (BTW, It can be downloaded from http://www.archive.org" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) I...
