Re: Does Theravāda avoid elitist interference in the affairs of others?

Let not two go the same way. Teach, O bhikkhus, t...

Re: Theravada is actively growing in the West. What is your take on what the future of that may bring?

Religion in general has been on the decline in recent years and decades. Church, temple attendance has been steadily going down in developed nations. As the under-developed nations become more developed, i.e., no longer third-world we can expect to see declining rates there too. People are moving to...

I'd say the same for your shirt, but I'd be lying! :jumping: Thanks David! As a token of my appreciation I may be sending you a Jets t-shirt........ It looks like both the Raiders and Jets are in the rebuilding phase with the 4-12 finishes. Nice mala beads! Thanks, they are sandalwood, which accord...

Re: Most famous teacher of all time?

The Buddha, of course. :buddha2:

If you mean besides the Buddha, then I'd say the 14th (current) Dalai Lama is the most "famous" or well-known.

If you mean the best (in terms of wisdom) teacher after Buddha, then I'd say Sariputta.

Re: Paid advertising Buddhism - 8,898,114 YouTube views

That video has almost 9 million views but not a single 'like' or 'dislike'? That seems strange, unless the like feature can be disabled? I have heard that one can promote videos by paying some companies to add views to your videos (making it appear more popular than it is), although I think that wo...

Re: Happiness Paradox?

A quote I received from a monk the other day, who sends daily quotes by email: If it is only happiness that you seek, you will never be satisfied. It reminded me of this old thread, how people assume Buddhism's goal is happiness, but it has to be differentiated from worldly happiness and supramundan...

Re: How Do I Choose The ONE path When I Get So Much From Many Paths ?

Awesome share! Love shinzen and never heard that concept before. I feel I belong to the mono-spiritual path for sure because I am finding so much commonality between so many paths. Specially the commonalities between Patanjali and buddhas teachings - its very neat and I find it increases my confide...

It already exists, in this thread:

Perhaps you guys didn't notice it, since it was not pinned to the announcements in that Dhamma propagation sub-forum. I can do that now. edit: done
