Can't do mindfulness I'll go insane can't do metta I'll go to hell. Time to be a normal person.
It's okay, just do Life meditation. And then you could go back to more formal sitting practice when you are ready.

Did I end up on the dharma wheel engaged forum?
Someone who identifies as a Hare Krishna necro-posted this thread back up. If he/she wants to discuss further they should do so at DWE or at DP.

Re: Shravasti Dhammika

I browsed thru THE BROKEN BUDDHA . Shravasti Dhammika made many worthwhile observations although his solutions to me have a Mahayana or Christian bent (rather than merely practising the Middle-Way). Regardless, an extremely insightful book. Well written. You just now read it for the first t...

Re: Shravasti Dhammika

I was always taught "humility" is a form of conceit. Also, I was taught a monk should never make a statement about attainments, either for or against. If the monk says he is not enlightened, this may diminish faith. If a monk says he is enlightened, he can be accused of lying. Roshi Kapleau wrote s...

Re: Shravasti Dhammika

He lives in Townsville, Australia now. Can you or anyone say exactly where he lives in Townsville? Email address? Thanks :) I pointed out its from 2001. Anicca (change) can occur. Since Dhammika is now my "local monk", I am keen to read more: You and Ven. Dhammika both live in the same town/city? I...

I have listened to another video and found that his understanding of Anatta is not up to scratch.
Why? What's wrong with his view on anatta? At the closing minute he states that it is not a soul.

Great video. Incredible story.
The story of the elephant giving him money to go to Sri Lanka is almost unbelievable.
Where does he live in Australia?
Queensland, northern Australia

Shravasti Dhammika

A lot of you here probably know of Shravasti Dhammika from some of his many good books, including Good Question, Good Answer , or his blog or his controversial Broken Buddha . He has written over 25 books and many articles at Dhamma Wiki. He's been a kalyana-mitta of mine for about 15 years. https:/...

Re: The Self and Control

What the hell is a goeloe? (I googled it, nothing came up.) Exactly. If something is not clear it doesn’t need to be accepted or rejected as ‘there is such a thing’ or ‘there is no such a thing’ or answer like ‘I have one’ or ‘I don’t have one’. Wise is to do some inquiry. Searching on the internet...

Re: Anonymous (online) Bikkhus

i am curious about which rules would be broken by participating in a discussion online. I agree with this. What rules would have been broken by the monk simply for participating in a discussion? Even if there is some dispute, disagreements, that is okay, monks are not prohibited from debating issue...
