Paṭicca-samuppanna vs. Paṭicca-samuppada

I see these two terms used seemingly interchangeably. Is there a difference in meaning or grammatical form?

I'm inferring from reading that Paṭicca-samuppada means "dependent arising" while Paṭicca-samuppanna means "dependently arisen". Is that correct?

Thank you!

Re: Three Axioms of Conditionality

I am neither a proponent nor opponent of the Abhidhamma. Do you believe it is possible to consider an idea, even for a moment, regardless of where it came from?

Three Axioms of Conditionality

Here's a summary of a little gem I found: Three Axioms of Conditionality (from the Abhidhamma) 1. Everything arises from causes/conditions - There are no magical, random occurrences ( adhiccasamuppana ) 2. Everything has more than one cause - There are no single causes ( ekakaranavada ) 3. Every cau...

Purification of sankharas

I've read in many places that in observing sensations with mindfulness and equanimity, sankharas are purified. Goenka has written this as well as several other teachers. Does anyone know the source of this in the suttas?

Non-sapmajañña varieties of sati

I once saw I believe two other variations on sati aside from sati-sampajañña. I can't remember what they were and am unable to find them in web searches. Can anyone recall or point me to a resource?

Thank you!

Kamma as "wearing a groove"

I remember reading (but don't remember where) about Theravada teachers saying that when we repeatedly carry out an action that it wears a groove in the mind, making it more likely to repeat that action. Is there a name for this in Pali and is it something that was said in a sutta, or was this some l...
