For the person in the dream, there is nothing common between two dreams. But still the same person
"Same person" makes this sound more like the Hindu model, where a soul is repeatedly reincarnated?

Rebirth is like celebrating one's birthday every year.
Maybe in Zen, but we're on a Theravada forum.

Re: Is rebirth like changing someone's name?

For instance, I can change my name to Simon and can say in my previous life I was known as SarathW. As it happens I did change my first name for about a year ( it's a long story! ). I wouldn't describe it as "rebirth", but it did feel like a slightly different identity for that period of...

Re: What is craving ?

So, are you saying greed is hatred , which is same coin different side ? For example: Aversion to noise results from craving for quiet. Does Aversion to noise if in comparison to Annihilation of a person life , is still make sense equivalent to Thirst / Craving / Tanha ? Thirsty to finish your own ...

Re: Are Rapture and Pleasure (Piti Sukha) Experienced in Nibbana? It Seems So!

I would be wary of reading too much into viññanam anidassanam, which only seems to appear in a couple of places in the canon: I don't think the fact that it only appears in a couple of places is a valid reason to dismiss or ignore it. As another example, the mutual dependence of conciousness and na...

Re: What is craving ?

I think the second quote is equivalent to craving for sensual pleasure ! Continuation of Existence is different from Continuation of Experience ! I mean craving for any kind of experience, even bad experiences which could include lower realms. Note that experiences can be both pleasant and unpleasa...

Re: What is craving ?

Greetings , It seems that there is 2 version of Craving , Which is the correct one ? Or both are the same ? https://suttacentral.net/mn44/en/sujato “It’s the craving that leads to future rebirth, mixed up with relishing and greed, taking pleasure in various different realms. That is, craving for se...

Again, this shows that either this "Vinnayam Adissanam" is an entirely useless concept in terms of Path
This is just your assumption.

Re: Are Rapture and Pleasure (Piti Sukha) Experienced in Nibbana? It Seems So!

This explanation is incorrect. Please read MN 38. View that nibbana = consiousness is eternalism. :strawman: In MN38 Sati assumes vinnana to be like a "soul", and not like Nibbana. Also vinnana refers to the six types of sense-consciousness , and not to consciousness without surface ( vinnana anida...

Re: Are Rapture and Pleasure (Piti Sukha) Experienced in Nibbana? It Seems So!

Precisely. In all eternalstic/annihilationistic theories Atta (soul) is an unconditioned part of a living being. Everything depends on conditions, but this thing is "always there" and does not change because it is not conditioned. True Self. This is what you are describing. Nibbana is also uncondit...
